Facilities for girls like separate washroom or common room .. sanitary facilities
As i have become a board member so i need to interact with many
Teaching methods are somewhat good but i need a introduction of technology would help to understand better

Dislikes

There minium placements drives and not consoled properly
Boys is neglected as they haven't maintained boys washroom cleanly and properly
Old teaching methods are used mostly where it gets hard to understand

As my course is field based course so we got nice curriculum as per department we often organize.. art and craft ..debate..dance ... and many more to outshine our department as they will help us to upgrade our skills

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 8000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

We have a semester system so need to pay every 6 months and amounts varies first for admission along with 6 month feels i have paid around 1500 and now semester wise we paying sometime 7000 and sometime 8000 so as per government scholarship we only get based on caste like sc st obc which are minimum and higher amount is of swami vivekanda scholarship which is high amount but for that we need to score above 80% which is impossible for every students to score at his/her college level

Campus Life

We basically have fashion and there were expo this year where all college came to show there talents and beauty of each students participants and over all our college and so many clubs which are active and works for the welfare and development of the college

Admission

Well, i did apply around Darjeeling and silguri and got 2 confirmed list one from ghoom jorbunglow college and other from Darjeeling government college but as silguri being my home town i did it here and like my college admission Criteria is .. 60% above in his/her 12th board

Faculty

Interaction with faculty's are not so difficult as they are approachable but some are not and they don't even feel like clearing our doubts... HOD of our department is mostly i like... and reason is he teaches well focus on our department development and i Don't like of is our ge classes teachers as they are rude to us.. sometimes kicks out while talking a little.. exams are mostly conducted every year.. as they provide notes.. every students prepare well ... passing students are more then fail

Night Life

If you ask about night there is none except for hostellers and for other students Library is best place to study and to be focused as it is always silent and calm allowing students to read and there books are really helpful as they are out of academic also

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.

I pursued my graduation degree from Salesian College, Sonada and did not sit for any entrance exams for my college admission process. After aplying I got a call from the college course's HoD who took a telephonic interview. the cut was 60% approximately and even though I joined in late I was able to join the course.
