Course Curriculum Overview

4

This course had nothing to offer to me when i made my decision to do BTech. new faculty is really appreciated and new side clubs for fun. the curriculum is really boring and we really need some new methods of studying dwelling more into the practical world instead of the boring theories. T1 starts in 1 month of the sem and the syllabus is small and easily scorable. T2 starts after 1.5 month of T1 and the syllabubs is overall covered before T2 thats bit difficult. T3 start after 1 month of T2 and the syllabus is overall covered before T3 and its extremely difficult because half the students are studying for barely passing the exams due to no understanding of syllabus because the most teachers cant explain well.

Internships Opportunities

2

college doesnt provide internships for free all are paid and the purpose is only for writing in the resumes for past experience and it's a mendatory task if you want to register for your final year. its advisal to make projects on own and search for internships by self because the collge doesnt provide such opportunities.

Placement Experience

2

from 7th sem students can sit in placement drives, majority companies that come are small time types which only have a package of 3.5 lakhs and it's pretty bad considering you've paid around 20 lakhs overall in college and you leave with a 3.5 lpa job. the higgest packages are generally off campus and this time it was from google of about 48 lpa. this year most placement drives had a conversion rate of 5% i plan on securing a off campus placement because i've seen the drive session of the 4th year students and i do not want to end up in that situation.

Fees and Financial Aid

fee structure: academic fee: Rs.120750/sem(1st and 2nd sem) Rs.126750/sem(3rd and 4th sem) Rs.133000/sem(5th and 6th sem) Rs.138750/sem(7th and 8th sem) hostel charges(per sem): Rs.80000/- (double occupancy and tripple occupancy) Rs.875000/-(single occupency) caution money(one time and refundable):Rs.10000/- fee deposition at the time of Registraction: D.D for Rs.70750/- towards balance tuition fee for one sem D.D for Rs.40000/- towards balance hostel fee for one sem, if hostel is allotted D.D for Rs.10000/- towards caution money the fees is increasing by year, I am in my 3rd year currently and the current enrolled 1st year is paying: Btech: 2.99 lakhs(1st year fees) M.Sc: 95300(1st year fees) M.Tech: 1.36 lakhs(1st year fees) B.Tech lateral: 2.41 lakhs(1st year fees) PH.D: 63300(1st year fees) B.Sc(Hons.): 50000(1st year fees) BBA: 1.5 lakhs(1st year fees) B.Sc: 1.24 lakhs(1st year fees)

Campus Life

3

the events that happen are: freshers(diksha)- yearstart sem tournament- sep sports festival(parakram)- oct start bollywood night(lit fest)- nov end murious(tech fest)- feb annual fest (LF)- april/may honestly the campus life is the worst, weird kids no manners even the fest are too small can you imagine a dj night of 15 mins? it's boring

Hostel Facilities

4

hostel faculty- warden: really bad, really mean and only cares for herself and is sweet only infront of parents and the literal satan for girls caretaker: is the total opposite of warden and is really sweet. registration process: filled the form for hostel during college registration itself we have a common mess and the food is the worst every now and then we find insects in the food and the food tastes horrible they only make idli good the sambhar is the equal of water no taste nothing

Admission

I applied in VIT,Manipal University and SRM , cleared all the tests but my parents didn't wanna send there and those places were actually boring(i like to travel and explore the nearby places). the eligibility for my college is that you should have a good jee rank or good 12th percentage (tho they take anyone at this point, i had a known who had a 60 percentile in jee and still got CSE) the overall admission experience was okay-ish, too much waiting for turn and too many people.

Faculty

3

the faculty says that its difficult to fail in this college but thats the biggest lie!! they literally fail children to earn more money through supplementary examination(Rs. 500 per supplementary subject) and summer sem(Rs.10000 for lecture and Rs.7000 for lab). There's a teacher Deepak Gupta he debarred me in my lab and lecture in 3rd sem even though i had a medical and could have been able to give exam if he could consider, he told me to talk to him if i had any issue and in the end time flipped on me and failed me, in 4th sem he was again my teacher for OS subject and treated me badly because of my past sem causing me to get anxiety attacks frequently and when confronted acted as if he is a saint. I filled a complaint against him in the same sem becuase of the issues he was giving to me and its like a cold war between us since. there are 3 exams: T1- 15 marks T2- 25 marks T3- 35 marks and internal assesment mark is assigned by the teachers of the respective subject out of 25 marks which makes each subject of 100 marks and the passing marks are 30. Some of the ECE faculties are really good like Nishant Jain sir, he helped me a lot during my sem and still asks about my health and family and is on really good terms with me. Teachers should have compassion and understanding to help a child in need, honestly there are a lot of teachers like deepak gupta who deliberately fail children and announce in the sem start that this year I plegde to bring this amount of supplies.

Night Life

1

it's too boring- girls are not to go outside hostel after 9:30 pm and boys are allowed to go out all night theres nothing safe and secure here girls leave the campus and the wardens arent aware of it. its so scary when parents call late night because their child isnt picking up calls and they find that the child isnt in the campus itself. library timings at night: 9:30pm-11:30pm(girls can only go after signing in a register and making entry) gym are in each hostel and gym timing are: 4:30pm-11:30pm no famous places nearby only shimla or solan which is like an hour away.

Placement at JUIT begins from the 7th semester, core branches like cSE see good placements while Bioinformatics has limited on campus opportunities, Most of them opt for higher studies or research roles. I planned to go for job.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
