A wide Variety of Courses are Offered in the College, it follows the syllabus provided by calicut University but is allowed to make changes if needed The syllabus is not Fully Industry Oriented But covers almost all aspects of the subjects , the exams are conducted in timely manner and results are published within a month since its a autonomous Institution- we have Semester Exams on Oct or November and the 2 nd one on March The Exams are Upto the Mark Its Hard to Get Above 90% but 70-80 is Achievable Easily.The courses can be a bit more Industry oriented so the it can be Easy for Students to adapt into the corporate world .And the Teaching could Involve More practical sessions

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides small Intership opportunities we have a startup club in the college and various small startups by the students as well as the faculty so students are allowed to do internships over there and paid accordingly but not much

Placement Experience

We Have a Dedicated Placement Team and a very good placement Officer Around 50% of the students gets placed in our college me myself got placed in 3 MNC's, Big Four Companies like Deloitte and Ey are Both our Top Recruiters we also have Infosys,Tcs , cognizent, wipro as our recruiters aroud 300-500 placements occur in the College every year we also have various startup companies Recruiting from our college our Highest package id of 16 lakhs offered by Federal bank for assistant manger position we also have banks recruiting from Bcom and various other departments our median salary is about 3 lakhs Around 100 or more companies are recruiting from out college

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees : 1 st year 10000 for ,2 nd and 3 rd year 8000 each Scholarships are provided for SC/ST/OBC and e grantz for financially backward students other scholarships are also available Caution Deposit About 1000 will be refunded after completing the course Lab fees Around 500 for each sem for each Lab subjects Scholarship about can vary from 30- 70 % of your fees according to the scholarships Courses with Lab Subjects Fees Range from 18,000-22,000 For self finance courses the Semester Fees are About 20,000-30,000 varies according to courses

Campus Life

The campus life is good in overall and we have various fests like srishti organised by cs department and touro fest by commerce department and various other fests which are organised by various other departments in the college

Admission

I Applied to Couple of Other Colleges which comes under Calicut University But st Thomas College was my First choice since it has a very High Placement rate in the State Among All Colleges. Students Should Have At least 90% marks in +2 to get into this College,I got Admission in the Last allotment, its very hard to get into and for some courses the cut off is even 98% marks in +2 ,The most Popular courses in the College is Bsc computer Science and B com

1 Faculty For 30 Students Faculties are very approachable and Friendly Most of them are well Qualified and many has Industry Experience so Helps In Placement Activities Exams are a bit tough , you should be real genius to score high marks we have 2 Internal Exams and one End Semester Exam,We follow Grading System Fail rate is Around 10 % in each class

Night Life

The College closes at 7 and there is not much night life , the Library is working till 8 the Hostels also closes at 8 , campus timing are 8 AM to 6 PM We have the Thekinkadu maindanam which is the main hang out space near the college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

I chose this course to help others.social service was the main motive. I'm now persuing post graduation because i got best classes from best teachers.
