Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is neutral. some dont get why they have to attend welding workshops being CSE students and some dont understand why they have to attend the communication labs as if they dont know how to talk! But its the same everywhere, first year, youve got to learn everything you get and it gets over too quick, its unnoticed.

Internships Opportunities

3

The internship opportunities are great. There are plenty of seniors who just got their internships in dell, oracle etc and they are doing great for themselves, you need to uplift your skills in order to get in

Placement Experience

3

The placements are just as any other NIT. 24-48lpa for cse students which is a good amount if ur just starting. If no placement is offered then theres plenty of things u can consider, like having your own startup, going for Mtech, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

NIT HAMIRPUR FEES STRUCTURE (2024-2025) 1. General and Open category 1st semester: 96,600 rupees tuiton fee: 62,500 rupees one time institute charges: 13,000 rupees per semester charges: 21,100 rupees 2.SC/ST/PH students 1st semester: 34,100 rupees 2nd semester onwards: 21,100 rupees no tuiton fee only institute charges 3. Hostel charges 40,000 rupees per semester for all categories 4. For the complete course

Campus Life

3

My overall experience has been good so far. The seniors are as helpful as they come and there is no need to be uptight around them. Respect is a must but its as comfortable as it gets. My social life has always been great so i personally dont struggle with it but if someone else does then they need to push it for themselves. The infrastructure is great.

Admission

I chose this college because who doesnt want the NIT tag. Also because its in the mountains, therefore, its a dream. Also because i was getting CSE under it and choosing that as an option was a no brainer. While the other colleges are more focused on just fests, this college provides them both equally. academics and cultural fests. a good mix.

Faculty

3

The faculty is very friendly, especially the branch i am under. CSE professors are extremely chill and helpful and theres zero load from their end of the table. The course structure contains of 2 examinations: mid semester and end semester mid semester is during september end-october end semester is during december the marking schemes depend on professor to professor, but the generic view of it is : 30 marks mid sems, 20 marks internals and 50 marks end sems

Night Life

3

Since the in timings till final year boys is till 9:30pm, there is no night life. sad. you need to make your own night life, for that you need to socialize and expand the amount of people u talk, and network with

Other Applied Colleges

punjab Engineering college university of tech | bachelors in technology

because i found out more about the current college I'm in and explored more to the point I came to the realization that an NIT is far more of a better option

Students can sit for job drives from the 7th term. In our college, firms like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra visit. Most jobs are in coding, support, or test fields. The top pay was around ?10 LPA for a dev job. The usual pay is 3–4 LPA for most jobs. Nearly 60–70% of CS/IT students get jobs. Core jobs are less for other fields. My goal is to work for 1–2 years in tech and then go for higher study or skill-based role in top firm or startup.
