Likes

Boys hostel, people from different places of country come here, off best location of the university
Cafeteria in our hostels which remains open during night time
We have a huge sports ground for players to practice any type of sports

Dislikes

This university is situated in a remote village so to commute we have to pay a lot of money
The transportation facility is poor and the administration is doing nothing to improve it
Library is so small and we can't go to the library at night

Course Curriculum Overview

Professors do not stick to the conventional way of teaching in our course. We have lab practicals and various seminars which enrich our knowledge about our subject. We have field visits which help us understand our subject in a more nuanced manner.

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of our course is very high in comparison to other colleges. There is no fees concession for people belonging to any other castes or quota. The fees is approximately 2 lakh per year which makes it difficult for any student to afford this course.

Campus Life

In our university there are various cultural evenings and programs. We attend all the events in our auditorium and those events are quite happening. The students of the university run a number of clubs which help students discover their hidden talents.

Hostel Facilities

Food quality of boys hostel mess is not upto the mark. Initially the food quality was good not it has been compromised. It keeps on getting degraded day by day. Some days we sleep without eating anything.

Hostel Fee: INR 56000 per year

Admission

Admission for any btech program is carried through JEE exam score. It is one of the courses whose admission is not through merit. Other courses are merit based. Eligibility criteria differs for different courses but if someone wants to pursue engineering they should have opted for non medical stream in class 12th.

Faculty

All the faculty members of our department are people who are well known in their domain. There are a number of professors who have received awards and recognition from the government of india. Highly reputed professors with great communication skills.

Night Life

Boys are allowed to roam in the campus. There is no restriction on our movement in the campus. But the case is different for girls. There is a discrimination based on gender. Also, security guards are always there on duty to check on our activities.

Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good things is that they offer minor courses for us where we can choose extra courses which we may find interesting and yaa not only that interdepartment projects can also be chosen which is very strange but don't seems relevant.curriculum earlier they were following of iit Delhi and new curriculum is not very exact and relevant because sometimes there are some unnecessary courses and no point of learning that course which forcefully imposed on us to take this course as it comes under institute department courses and are mandatory which is not so good

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Review about Shri mata vaishni devi university

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students.
