Likes

The quality of professors and their way of teaching
The campus and the labs are too good for engineering students

The leaves are very less and the curriculum is tough

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is a bit backdated but it really helps to crack gate and other entrance exams. The syllabus is what the professors teaches us and it gets updated after every four consecutive years. Also the quality of questions asked in exams are of standard level.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Placement Experience

The placements are very less. Average package of 2023 is 9LPA. If I don't get placed, I'll opt for reaserch programmes. As most of the students of University of Calcutta are more reaserch oriented scholars.

Fees and Financial Aid

It's a reaserch based college so the rates of placement are very less but it's good for future based education engineering students. You can't ask for intership leaves and should score atleast 50% marks to stay in the college

Campus Life

The campus life is fun with seniors and other field scholars. In University of Calcutta, generally we don't get any fests and it's a bit harsh to be honest. But the senior and professor are always available to help you in college.

Hostel Facilities

Three persons in a room, with a cupboard, a table and a bed. The hostels got their own halls to eat and have fun. Also the hostel food and the hostel room is quite affordable and it's worthy of students money. Also the campus is silent so it's good overall.

Hostel Fee: INR 2000 per year

Admission

This is the second best engineering college after jadavpur university as in terms of Wbjee ranking. Also I took admission here, as the quality of reaserch facilities I get in university of Calcutta is enormous.

Faculty

There'll be overall 4 exams in a year, two mid sem and two final sems...the syllabus will be taught by our well known professors and there is less college politics than any other colleges. The students and seniors have a good bonding

Night Life

I didn't had any experience till now.so no idea about it.but. I wish to have A good and clean campus. The college is open till 6 pm and you can go to labs during this hours. The hostels are overall very good

A perfect real life experience

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester we are eligible to sit for campus placements . Companies like tcs , wipro, infosys often comes here. 70% of the students gets direct placements. My plans after getting the degree is to do higher studies like mba and from this college.

The placement opportunities are pretty decent. Although the initial package is not much but those will increase with time. More over talking about my personal placement, I got a offer but I was not willing to go with it so I plan of getting a new one from a other company. I chose my college for my traveling as it's one station away from my house and also my elder sister also studied chemistry major from here, I knew the culture of the college, it's familier for me to study here. Not like that I got rejection for microbiology but I applied for physiology only here, I got enlisted for admission in many other colleges in Kolkata including Bethune in botany but I didn't want to spend my whole time in travelling for college so I didn't join.
