Course Curriculum Overview

2

I thought the course would be good and it is really nice to have computers and business as a single one.But the college had made it worse. They won't focus much on business subjects and most of the students enrolled in this since they couldn't get seat in CSE or IT. And that makes it even worse as they don't focus in classes of business and doesn't let other's listen either. The college itself had no idea on what they are doing with us even during the placements they won't allow business related jobs.I had a job offer as business development executive and the placement coordinator rejected it saying focus on technical jobs. The course was designed by TCS but ironically they didn't invite TCS for placements and no other company appriciates the essence of us as emerging technology students all they want is those with coding skills.Even the companies send mails to allow students placements as business development executives but the placement cell is not allowing students to participate.Coming to the teaching methods the humanities department is always good at teaching with real life examples making it simpler and understandable. So until the final year we will be not taken seriously either by cse,it department or humanities department. There is a really strong shortage of faculty and they are not even trying to cover it once for a single subject there were 3 faculties as they kept quiting and the syllabus was left unreached.

Internships Opportunities

1

There are no internship opportunities in the college.Students are only allowed to go for it in 4th yr where again they want internship with job guarantee while doing projects in the same yr.I would say everything about this clg is so sick. All the projects will be purchased from outside and the college know that too.My internship was rejected because it offered 13k as stipend. The placement cell wants 20k+ stipend with job guarantee after the internship all this without proper projects at academic level.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are not that bad it's going on but there's a high standard for initial screening. The number of companies visited would be around 15 but there aren't many students who were placed. They only allow 4th yr students to participate.the percentage of students getting placed would be 5.Since the college would definitely fail to get placement for me.I don't really plan to do a job I want to start my own company and I will do it soon as I'm already working on it.The degree from here is pretty normal so it won't land anyone in fancy earning jobs. Most of our seniors were unemployed and the worst thing is we need to pay the college if an internship or placement is given by them. The average package would be 4LPA. Companies like Deloitte, Accenture, crow,ITC have taken assessments. And there were many other startup companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee I paid varied since the year I took my admission the college was not autonomous but now it is.They took our signature stating that if the college attains autonomous position within our 4yrs of course we need to pay the increased fee dues for all the years.During the admission they took 10k rupees as caution and admission fee.I don't get any scholarships so I have to pay full amount which is 126000 per year,My Frnds who have scholarship and are not minorities will pay around 85k while those who are minorities have to pay around 2k-5k as college fees. There is management quota as well where you have to pay around 6lakh to get a seat in cse related courses. If there's any missing things from lab the management will charge all the classmates accordingly. For the condonation it's 5k now and the semester fee is also 2k.Also if you opt for emerging technologies the fee is high compared to the regular ones

Campus Life

3

There is only one fest per year which is nirvana. It is a 4day fest where the games competitions were held from a month before this. The first 2days are for technical fest in this the students can conduct games and open stalls and showcase technical projects. All these definitely comes with a price. For the games and stalls students have to give commission and rent to the department. There are clubs like photography, music, dance ,drama ,idea incubation.During the starting of academic yr they would conduct auditions and the interested can participate by registering. The Library has a wide range of books and it is always accessible. They would allow to borrow books. The student life is good if had connections with faculty and clubs otherwise it's not easy to survive during fest. Most of the students with connection would easily get attendance during fest months while no classes were conducted the rest has to attend the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college has only boys hostel no girls one.Boys hostel has two blocks junior and senior. The food is not so great but a bus takes them to the hostel everyday during the lunch hour.Coming to the girls hostels we have to stay in PG which costs around 8500 per month with one month deposit the food is not good most of the times. since most stay in Gachibowli which is working professionals area the rents are usually high if good quality is needed much higher price to be paid. All curries taste same. And the PG owners are just concerned about making profits and hospitality is sick.

Admission

Well I got seat through TSEamcet. I am actually from AP and I don't pretty much know the top colleges and don't have any reservation. SO I applied to a very limited college jntu osmania cbit mgit narayanamma Vasavi and that's the list no other colleges. In the first round I got a seat in narayanamma in eee later I decided to go for 2nd round and landed in this college.I wasn't particularly interested in any btech courses back then and I wanted to do BBA but it wasn't accepted in the family. So I had to choose one in btech that's when I saw this CSBS in MGIT.Luckily I got it but it wasn't as expected. The college gives you all kinds of trauma and mental pressure as a bonus.

Faculty

3

We have 2 mid term exams before final sem exam. The mid exam is for 30 marks 15 descriptive and 10 objective and 5 for assignment. The final sem is for 70.Average is taken from 2 mids. For the mid exam most of the time about 99.9% the questions are from assignment.few of the faculty also provide objective questions. So it's not that hard. There is this professor named veena she is a class incharge but doesn't know a thing about students. She always favour those who are good to her and doesn't care about the rest.Even if her fav students get caught in cheating during exam she will let that slide.I like the professor harileela she is the head of mathematics and humanities department. She is very supportive and knowledgeable. And the most important thing is she teaches with much passion and makes sure everyone is listening.I would say the only best classes I had were hers.Coming to the exams it's not hard to clear but most of the students copy either by writing on the bench or using phone or chits. Those who can't do these will fail. The invigilation is also not that strict for lab practical exams.one can easily cheat and pass unless the faculty fails them on purpose. There were cases of this happened.

Night Life

1

It was dark and no one will be around the college during night. Most of the hostels around the college would not allow to roam during night. There are many drive-ins and small cafeterias, bars , restaurants.college starts at 9 and ends by 4. We can go out starting 3. If had to go between 9-3 department permission is needed. There are no specific amenities in the college other than basketball court and a small canteen.

Other Applied Colleges

Mahatma Gandhi institute of technology | Computer science and business systems

I am interested in business and enterprises and since my parents are not happy to join me in pure business courses i had to choose one with blend of computers and business

From 4th year 1st semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. About 10-15 companies visited our college with minimum 3 lpa. And only 30% of students are placed in the campus placement. Companies like virtuza, movate, cognizant, hcl visited our campus for placement. The highest package was 4.5 lpa and lowest was 2.8 . My plans after getting degree is work in a reputed mnc.
