- It is highly a party based college so that there are many disturbances.
- There is no effective mechanism for cleaning the premises which has led to the spreading of diseases like dengue fever.
- There is a shortage of infrastructure facilities in my college so that many departments have to share their buildings with the others.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a BSc Geography student. I studied humanities in plus two level and from there I like the subject , Geography,which is very different from other arts subjects.By learning geography,I am able to know the physical ,cultural, social and economic factors that help the human beings to interact the earth and it's geographical features. We have 6 exams in whole and we get 3hours to write .It's very hard to manage time as we have to write the exam for 100 marks.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college is a government college and the fees are lower than other colleges. The students who are economically weaker sections get Egrants. I have EWS certificate and get the Egrants. Tuition fee is 1200rs,as I am studying a science subject . Some of my batchmates have to pay 2000rs ,as they do not get any scholarships .
Campus Life
In my college,there are many programmes such as arts,cultural programmes,ncc,nss ,ect. We celebrate Onam , Christmas,Holi,And other cultural days. We have Arts day which is typically held at the end of the year.We also have sports day . Many quiz competitions,debates,camps,fests ,ect held here.Most notable one is our UC fest. But most of the programs are scheduled in the evening and the day scholars are unable to watch these programs.
Admission
I am studying in University college Trivandrum.Other than this ,I applied in Iqbal College Peringammala,Govt. College nedumangad,Women's college, All Saints college ,etc. My college is the number one college in Kerala in NIRF Ranking.
Faculty
There are almost 10 faculty members in our department. Almost all of them have doctorate. They are very experienced and well trained.I like Jayalakshmi ma'am and Shaheer Shah sir who are really motivating.We are semester based students and have 6 semesters.Each semester has exams and the results are published through Kerala University portal. Most of the students pass the exam.
Interview Experience
There is no type of interview in University college admission.The admission process is based on plus two marks. Students who score higher marks in plus two class are admitted here.The students are asked to fill the form of areas of interest and to submit various certificates of NCC,NSS youth festival etc.
Night Life
Campus night life is one of the most entertaining and Charming one in my college days.We had NSS camp held at our college and it was all fun at night.The camp fire is one of my cheerful experience in that camp.The night in UC is really lovable and calm.
