Entrance Preview

I wrote my CET(Common Entrance Test) of Karnataka and secured a rank of 9981 this is considered an average rank and to get CSE in a very good college being a General Merit student is close to impossible, through CET that is i choose this college as it was autonomous and based on words of a few neighbors also CSE, ECE and MECH are said to be good here compared to my other options so it became an obvious choice the admission process was hassle free involved filling up the form and producing all your necessary documents like Xth and XIIth attested score cards once successful you are good to go and they give you a brief orientation followed up with lunch.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Being an autonomous college it is very flexible one has to be in good terms with the faculty and maintain a bare minimum of 70% attendance moving towards R&D there is a lot of scope to CSE ECE EEE and MECH students since the college also has a provision for M.Tech therefore students get a lot of projects and opportunities courses keep changing and students have a option to choose from other branch subjects too.

Internships Opportunities

Only in the R&D Dept provides internships students don't get stipend only free accommodation, food and travel expense only project heads get Stipend.

Placement Experience

3.5

We have around 30 to 50 companies visiting the campus the circuit and IT branch students the placement percentage is almost 95% close to 500 were placed and being a CSE student i had 3 offers to choose from.some well known companies which visit are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cap Gemini, coke, Amazon etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes there are scholarships only for defense and backward classes nothing much for the GM students the fee can be paid in installments and loan contact the office for further details only the class toppers get a sum of Rs 1000 every semester.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life very pleasant and a small campus don't expect too much and dont go by the brand name.It is a decent place to study and students get a lot of holidays the gender ratio is almost equal at 55:45 (male%:female%) there is a basketball court, badminton court and a hockey and football grounds there are freshers parties and every festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm.most of the students are from Bangalore Mangalore and north Indian population is about 25% we have international students from Nepal, Africa, Bangladesh, Arab countries the college is well funded and provides grants to these international students there are usual no disputes or differences between these students and all coexist in a friendly manner we have many regional and zonal competitions of taking place too.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are many hostels to choose from and they are quiet strict the mess food is average but the canteen has a good array of dishes to offer all hostels have WiFi the hostel stay is quiet expensive coming upto around Rs 55000 there are many PG's but for g

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are quiet helpful mostly the once from R&D. The others don't come to college regularly but many have start ups and are highly influential many others are no way to be seen after graduation so i suggest to maintain a good rapport with the seniors it may be of some help later on but at the end of the day your are making good friends so no harm done.

Exam Structure

There are three internals along with internal assessments (projects and assignments) and a final exam student must score a minimum of 40% in the internals to be eligible to sit for the final exam the scores are not given and scores are given in GPA(grade

Faculty

3

Most faculties are young and friendly(about 55%) but the senior faculty are the amazing, i say this because they know the college inside out and being in good terms will fetch you a good learning experience in terms of project or papers teaching overall i

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
