Remarks

There have been a few complaints with the college management, they take regular feedbacks but it doesn't look like they act on it. Nonetheless, the college is smoothly and efficiently run.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The first year curriculum includes a subject from all major branches to give an insight into what all engineering encompasses. Although people crib about studying biology in an engineering college, the chapters are all technology-oriented and benefit each branch greatly.

Placement Experience

4

The placement scenario isn't exceptional with an average package and predictable jobs, but according to last year's data, companies are focussing less on picking the students with highest CGPA and more on those with all round activities. MIT has an innovation centre and startup incubator where students from all academic years learn entrepreneurship.

College Events

5

MIT organizes two college fests every year. The odd semester hosts Techtatva, a technical fest. various technical competitions and conclave are held. Even semester celebrates Revels at a much larger scale with a footfall of more than 10,000 from colleges all over south India, a number of performers, pro show and cultural events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The present fee structure for Biotechnology is Rs 3,07,000 for the first year and rs 2,97,000 for the subsequent years. Hostel fees vary based on the hostel opted in the range of Rs 88,000 to Rs 1,50,000. It is inclusive of mess fees. All other expenses are optional.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not opt for any scholarship. SCholarships are few and very specific. Since Manipal Academy of Higher Education provides employment to a major chunk of residents in this area, locals get to avail one. The scholarship is also provided to students securing MU-OET ranks 1-100 and to those with an annual income of 3lakhs or less.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is amazing, decidedly better than most other Indian colleges. The gender ratio is in the favour of boys, as in any engineering college, but girls are here in significant numbers and enjoy a carefree existence. MIT boasts of a large number of student-run clubs, one never runs out of extracurriculars to try out. Labs are well maintained.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel fees range from Rs 88,000 to Rs 1,50,000 based on the type of hostel selected. Dormitory type rooms(Non-AC) with a common bathroom are the cheapest. Other options available are three sharing and two sharing rooms with a common or attached bathroom and a single room with attached bathroom, all in AC or Non-AC options.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no ragging on the campus. Seniors are extremely friendly and helpful. Alumni network isn't as good as we would like it to be.

Admission

The college holds up to 7 rounds of counselling. To attend the first four, you have to register offline by visiting any one of the campuses and checking their facilities out. The 5th round is completely online. This is the round I opted for. 6th and 7th round take place if there are seats left over.

Faculty

3

MIT has it's a fair share of professors who lack the magic needed to connect to a student as their guardian, but most of the professors are helpful and approachable. They constantly encourage students to think differently, challenge themselves and help with building ideas and experiences.

Placement Experience:

lacements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Placements at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology are decent overall, with stronger outcomes for CS-related branches and moderate but reliable opportunities for core branches like Chemical Engineering. ???? Placement Eligibility Students generally become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Some companies also allow pre-placement offers (PPOs) through internships after the 6th semester. ???? Companies Visiting the Campus ???? Common Recruiters (Across Branches) TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini IBM L&T Deloitte (limited roles) ???? Core / Chemical-Related Opportunities L&T Reliance (limited roles) Schneider Electric Saint-Gobain Some manufacturing, quality, and operations-based companies Core chemical companies visit in limited numbers, so many Chemical Engineering students also sit for IT, analytics, and operations roles. ???? Packages Offered (Approximate) ???? Salary Range Highest Package (overall): ~?40–50 LPA (off-campus / international offer, mostly CS) Highest for Core / Chemical roles: ~?8–10 LPA Average Package (overall): ?7–8 LPA Average for Chemical Engineering: ?4–6 LPA ???? Job Profiles Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Process / Quality Engineer Analyst / Consultant Software Engineer (for interested students) ???? Placement Percentage Overall placement rate: ~90–95% Chemical Engineering: ~60–70% Students with good CGPA, internships, and skills tend to get placed earlier and in better roles. ???? Employability & Skill Development The college provides: Placement training sessions Aptitude and soft-skill workshops Coding and interview preparation support However, students are expected to upskill on their own, especially for core industry roles or higher-paying profiles. ???? My Plans After Completing the Degree After completing my B.E. in Chemical Engineering, I plan to: Gain industry experience through campus placement or off-campus opportunities
