Course Curriculum Overview

4

Majority of the professors do try to help the students understand the course as much as possible even with language barriers. But the technological aspect lacks such as better boards and desks as well as practical explainations.

Placement Experience

3

Students can opt for placements from the 6th semester onwards and sit on the interviews taken by the companies that decide to conduct placements in the campus. 40% of the students got placed but it wasnt very high and most of the high package placed students did off campus placements on their own.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got my seat via the NRI quota, so my fees was high compared to others. I paid 3 lakhs per annum resulting in a total of 12 lakhs for the complete course. My bathmates paid arnd 15k per annum through the general category and the hostel fees also was fairly low. I didnt opt for any scholarships but heard about a few that gave 50k to students who scored well.

Campus Life

4

The campus life was fine, students interact often and tons of places in the campus to hangout around. There are student clubs as well if interested. Theres also a sports event held once a year from all the faculties. Besides that not much in terms of events. Facilities are decent regarding libraries and canteens.

Admission

I also applied for AMU but got my admission here first so stayed here. I didnt apply elsewhere due to higher fee structures and lower NIRF rankings. Couldnt clear JEE that well that i couldve opted for other central universities.

Faculty

4

Faculty overall is decent, but there is this faculty unity where if students go against the faculty the faculty will unite no matter whos at fault. I liked the engineering faculty as they seemed to provide more facilities compared to other faculties in the college. But, the engineering faculty also lacked any proper response when students demanded certain problems to be resolved. The course and number of examintaions for btech are the same as everywhere, 8 in total per semester and 2 sessionals per semester as well.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.
