Likes

The faculty are good and i i’m happy to enjoy their lectures .
I liked the functional programs those are held every year in our university
Besides I personally liked the campus as it is in hilly area .

Dislikes

Their are some issues like as it is in hilly area we faces some issues to walk around the campus

Course Curriculum Overview

The timing of our college is like it starts at morning 9 am and overs at around 4 pm besides their is a break session and that is from 12 am to 1 pm . You can have your lunch in the amenity centre inside the campus .

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 520000 per year

Internships Opportunities

University of science and Technology Meghalaya itself provides you the internship related to your courses and all . The internship will be from 7th sem i.e end of the course. Also they provide good placements.

Placement Experience

According to the management 95% of students from CSE after Graduation get their placement by the USTM and the salary will be like 20k to 30k depending on your skills .They also provide certain companies to apply for job .

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees-440000 Admission fees-75000 Caution deposit-5000 If anyone choose hostel then the fees will be like 90000 around . They also provides scholarships if any student score more 75% or 7.5 cgpa in hi high school .

Campus Life

There are so many cultural organisations takes place in ustm such as kairos that held this year . Besides they perform DJ night every year sponsored by Red bull . There is gymnastics where everyone are allowed to do their workouts .

Admission

I applied 2 to 3 colleges and at last I decided to take admission in USTM as my father personally liked the university and some of my brothers completed their degrees from here and so i chose USTM . Thank u

Faculty

I personally appreciate the teachers,faculty staffs and all . Their are 3 sessional exams and one end sem per semister . You have to attend atleast 75% of your classes otherwise you will unable to sit in exams .

A Glimpse Into Life At NIT Meghalaya

Placement Experience:

In the 6th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. There are many companies who want the 7th-semester student to sit in their placement process. The name of the companies are as follows: Infosys 4 offers L&T 5 offers Google 2 offers POWERGRID 2 offers Etc Approximately 71 % of students got placement in many companies. I will do farming after getting my degree.

Placement Experience:

Yes placement's are there because it's a NIT From 3rd semester you are eligibile to apply for internship and from 7 sem you are also eligible for campus placements Many companies visit our campus for the placements some famous names of coma pansies are adobe amazon flipkart Mahindra infosys tata black rock etc and the no of offers made differ each year but the average of offers remains 150plus Highest package of our college is 51 LPA Which is bagged by a cs girl this year from Amazon and the average package also differ by the branches but for mechanics and cs branch a the average package is as good as 10LPA Percentage of students greeting placed is very good for the mechanical and cs branch like 95% placements are there and for others branches also 70% placements is there So placements is not a big issue in this college ???? My plans are simple Mai have to maintains a good ointer to be eligible for campus placements and get a good job and settle in life

A Totally Honest Review for those hoping to get enrolled in NIT Meghalaya

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for the placements from the 7th semester. There are various national, international and PSU companies offering job opportunities with Microsoft, TATA, GOOGLE, Vedanta Limited, HCL, to name a few. Highest package offeres is 80LPA offered to a student from Computer Science department from Amazon Company with a whopping average package of 50-60LPA every year and 60% of overall students getting placed 20-25% opting out for further studies and the remaining not being placed. I plan on pursuing further studies and getting enrollment in research programs.

IN my institute the placements for mechaical department is very good .The overall average package is 12 lack per annum . And highest package this year was 55 LPA for CSE but it was off campus placement.The average package for CSE department is around 15 lacks per annum.

The campus of the university is overall average. We get packages around 10 LPA but mostly students opt for heigher studies as only 10 -20 percent of students successfully get placed My plans are for masters in technology after the degree . Placement Experience:

Due to recession the campus placements are not that good like earlier years. This year the Highest package was offered by Amazon to only one student of CSE department. The package was offered 43 lacs per annum. Rest of the students got a package of 12-15 lacs per annum. The average package was 6-8 lacs per annum. The overall percentage of placement was nearly 88 percent.

I choose this college over other colleges for my further degree programs because of its environment and results. In this college admission process is very simple you should go the campus first which is located on meghalaya Ri Nhoi district near 9th mile guwahati. A brief note on my University (USTM)

I want to study my previous university that was Guwahati university but my dream university was this University of science and technology Meghalaya. But wanted to study there because that was an government institute no money needed for semester fees and a very law budget students can study there and also a very good university of North-east Assam. I applied in Gauhati University but didnt get selected there because I couldn't crack their entrance exam. The main advaantage of Gauhati University over my University is that it is a government University and requires less money Since it is a private University so no entrance exam is held for admission into it.
