What Students Say
Likes
- First of all, the college infrastructure is great with well equipped labs. There are libraries for every block and night view of campus is aesthetic.
- Teaching quality is good.Almost all teachers are very well versed in their field of expertise. We have proctors who are nothing but mentors assigned to 8 students and have weekly interactions with them which helps us communicate with teachers easily.
- The student crowd is co operative as juinors get necessary guidance from seniors. Clubs are active and do crazy fests and activities.
Dislikes
- The girl to boy ratio is 1:3(one more thing I dislike). Some of the teachers sometimes speak the local language here which students from other states cannot understand
- The teachers have south indian accent which some may be uncomfortable with.
- There is a loophole in the communication between management and students as sometimes we don't get mails regarding any announcements
Course Curriculum Overview
Each sem we have a detailed course that serves as an aid for our main course ensuring that we have other skills apart from our main stream. At the end of 2nd sem,for next sems we are given real life projects to work on. The teaching method is based on the real time applications. The curriculum should remove language as a subject from 2nd sem at least as people have enough knowledge about communication until then. So we'll have 2 cie's with a gap of 40 days between them. The first cie would be after 40 days from the start of your course. The exams are easy to pass once you have the understanding but requires effort if u want top grades.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like microsoft, Goldman Sachs, ibm, xiaomi, volvo, cognizant, gale, UI path, JP Morgan, paypal offer internships Stipends of some of them are UI path 1lakh/mont Microsoft 68k/month Gale 40k/month JP Morgan 60k/month Goldman Sachs 80k/month Roles like sde, backend, frontend and full stack developers are offered to students
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for on campus internships from end 5th sem. There would be a interview test by the company and those who clear the cutoff are eligible for interviews. Companies like microsoft,Goldman Sachs, ibm, JP Morgan, apple, Xiaomi,Wipro, cognizant, ui path, gale etc visit the college every year. In 2024 highest package was 48.7lpa(UI path) as an SDE and lowest being 4.9lpa, avg being 8.6lpa In 2024 for cse course there was 100% placements My plans after getting degree is to go for mtech
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearwise fee through kcet is ?107495 for general category During admission they collect ?20500 extra as skill lab fee which is an internship programme offered during 5th sem For snq quota students, yearly fee is ?30000 and they also need to pay skill lab fee For comedk students, it'd be ?2.8lakha per year and for management students ?3.2 lakhs per year Management students need to pay ?45 lakh as a donation for cse branch , ?20 lakh for ise branch For sc/st students there are many scholarships from government like ssp,nsp etc which include their college fee.
Campus Life
Fests are another great refreshing activities here. Every year we have an annual fest named UDHBAV which is famous for its grandeur in whole of banglore. They also have fests for kannada rajyothsava which is again celebrated on a large scale. Library can be accessed any time. Libraries are open till 11pm on working days and 4:30pm on holidays, sundays from 9am. We have text books to encyclopaedia, publishes, magazines in the library. The classroom is mediocre with good lighting and benches and projectors. But classroom infrastructure could have been better. Sports are given great importance and Msrit stands 1st in almost all sports in vtu sports events. We have deca(department of extra curricular activites) where one can find more than 20 clubs of various interests including dance, music, anime, debates, mun etc..
Hostel Facilities
I'm in msr gokul hostel which charges ?185000 per year for 2 sharing. Rooms are good with attached bathroom. We have 4 meals per day. Non veg being served on 2 days per week. It includes laundry services as well. We have 2 study tables and well ventilation and room cleaning services for every 2 days.
Admission
I had applied to bmsce and pesu and got a cse seat there too But pesu has a very rigid curriculum unlike ramaiah and bmsce has too many students per branch increasing the competition, hence I chose ramaiah. I got rejected from rvce as their cutoff didn't meet my rank So you can get into this college through kcet or comedk. Kcet cse cutoff is 1800 rank for gm Comedk cse cutoff is 1600 rank for gm Most preferred exam is kcet by students as fee is lesser there but can be given by karnataka students only Comedk can be given by all students across India Admission experience depends on the day you are getting admitted, like if u come right after the counselling it'll be crowded and may take 1-2 hrs or else you can complete in 30 mins on normal days.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:8 which is a pretty good ratio. We are assigned one mentor for every 8 students. The faculties are approachable anytime during the college hours.Being in cse branch, the faculties are well versed in their field and provide real time examples while teaching. Special mentions to physics and maths faculties, these have truly knowledgeable teaching faculty. Coming to the exams, we have two internal assessments named cie's every sem for 30marks. Avg of these two is taken for 30. 20 marks for labs, assignments, presentations etc.. which adds up to 50 marks and another 50 marks is see(semester end exam). So at the end of sem you get total marks out of 100. The syallabus curriculum is on point and tests are within stipulated syllabus which can be easily passed. But getting perfect scores are very good grades requires your efforts. Passing marks out of 100 is 40 and you need to have 22+ marks in cie's out of 50 to be eligible to write see's.
