Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well designed so that it can help you for M. Sc preparation and CUET PG and GATE B. There is SEC i.e. skill enhancement course that hones on skills of particular. We has nursery and gardening and teaches us so many skills of how and when plant can be harvaested. They take us for field trips to different places. We visited Sikkim and got to know about orchids and how to harvest it amd many more. We even visited BSI SIKKIM and the collection of herbarium was awesome. We had the talk with the director of BSI too. The curriculum can be a bit improved if there were more practicals included that hones the skills more. The exam is not that difficult you ca clear it if you study regularly for 2 hours atleast. The exams occir twice a semester. One is sessional for 30 marks and finals for 80.
Fees and Financial Aid
So the total fees is about 20000 rupees per year at the starting you have to give the admission fees which also includes lab fees, development fees or any other fees ; and the admission fees is around 10000 to 15000 and every odd semesters you need to renew registration and every semester you have to apply for your examination the examination application charge around 2000 rupees registration is also around 2 to 3000 they are lots of scholarships you can apply which is Nijut Moina Ishan Uday. There is no exemption of fees for other categories; everyone is same but in case if you are able to provide a low income certificate and some other documents you are exempted from fees like you do not have to pay admission fees but you do have to pay the exam application fees
Campus Life
Cultural rally, Freshers party, farewell party, inter department wall magazine competition, abvp freshers, dj night, cultural programmes, seminars and conferences. The books amd journals is the library are many. The library is very peaceful and spacious and you can study for as long as you can. There are lots of sports like football, cricket, kabaddi, shot put. There is a gym also.
Admission
I applied B. Boruah, Cotton University and many more. The faculty of this college are excellent and i have heard mang good alumni that studied here. There were some colleges where i didnt get into and i rejected some colleges as their ranking was very less and not many students go there. The admission process is simple. You can apply it on merit basis or CUET UG. You need to apply for seat admission. Then check the merit list wether you are selected or not. If you are selected you can approve your documents and pay the admission fees. You can even apply for fee waiver by showing your income proof certificate and get admission for free
Faculty
In botany department we have 8 teachers and 2 non teaching staff. Every semesters has 30+ students. I like miss Jahnabi Devi. She is disciplined and very friendly. I dont like Miss Papori Devi. She is strict with her classes but her teaching style is very good and managed. We have sessionals after 2 months of the start of semester and final exam at the end of our semester. The exam is not that difficult you need to atleast devote 3 hours a day for studying. The total marks is 100. 60 for theory, 20 for practical, 10 for sessional, 6 for assignment and 4 for attendance. We had 2 students failed becausr they didnt attend the exams. The course curriculum is very good it will help you take admission in any college
