What Students Say
Likes
- Campus is so nice, consists of gardens, gym, nice food court, sports courts, indoor game courts etc
- Faculties are not so old, they’re young with nice experience and expertise in their subjects. Also interactive and friendly.
- Many workshops, trainings etc are conducted every month in our college.
Dislikes
- The transportation to that area is little difficult because there aren’t any buses reaching to the campus gate. Buses are reachable upto nearby town that also not everytime.
- The placement cell is active in our college but i personally feel that it should be better.
- This year, i don’t know what is the problem, many faculties from different departments have been resigning from there. Maybe they’re facing salary issues, but this affects students and teachers bond. It may take time to mingle with new faculties.
Course Curriculum Overview
I personally chose this course to learn programming languages like Python , Microsoft C and Java . These languages are taught in our course . Also i love maths so much, that i found BCA as my first choice course. We have add on courses like AI , robotics, Cyber security, Data analytics etc which makes us ready for working in the industry. I felt that languages like english and all should be removed from the 1st year and instead they should provide useful skills essential for smooth running for the next years. Teaching methods are okay like most of them are hands on teaching with theory. Timing of exams should be altered in a systematic way because mostly the even semesters find it difficult to finish the portions while odd semesters have plenty of time after taking portions.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't experienced any internships as it is provided in our 3rd year. Currently i'm in my second year or 3rd semester. But our seniors recently went to IIT Palakkad for training and internship. Our college aims to provide nice internships with great companies. About the projects and all i don't know in detail...
Placement Experience
Campus placement is there in our college but not so active and the packages aren't so nice . Nice companies should come to the college and improve the placement cell. i don't know which all companies visited in detail. the package i heard is 8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of placement is also low like 5-10% only. I'm planning to do MCA after doing 1 year or 6 months internship . I want to pursue the masters and look at future opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
In our college, it's my second year now. When i took admission, there was an admission fee of Rs.6000 and had to pay the tuition fee of 1st year which is approximately 37500 INR i.e, 18750 for 1 semester. Then, for each sem there will be a small examination fee of 450 INR. Also there is a caution fee of 1000 INR. There is no change in fee between management and merit students. The infrastructure is so nice like the campus is in a hilly area which is the highlight. Our college has so many extracurricular clubs like leaders academy, Readers forum, IEDC, Sports, Etc etc. Academics are so great and faculties are well qualified and trained. This year 2024, our college has become autonomous, as a result, the fee has slightly increased to 20000INR per sem, but the syllabus aims to teach hands on more than theory. Exams will be on time, results will be on time, etc. Our college is going through its 19th year ig. They aim to increase one course each year, so that every trending courses are being updated in our college. For SC/ST students, if they pass every semester without any arrears, our college refunds the tuition fee of the entire course that means the student avails the degree for free. Infrastructure is being developed day by day, bringing new amenities.. In my personal opinion, our college offers degrees with affordable tuition fee. also provides placement cells with good packages, gives students opportunities to perform internships in nice institutions like IITs NITs IIMs etc. SAFI is a nice option for students looking for affordable studies and internships, placement etc for a good career.
Campus Life
Campus life has been so nice, we have a nice relationship with our seniors and juniors. There are so many clubs for each and every types of students. I love travelling so iam in Tourism club. In this club, we are asked to give reviews on places we visited. then in a semester 2 or 3 times, the members will have a visit together to a tourist destination and we explore every aspects of that place and give reviews. Then this is made into articles and posted in various magazines in and out of our college. There are many clubs like Readers forum, Leaders academy, Civil service academy, Sports like football, volleyball, basketball, hockey etc . indoor games like chess, carroms, etc
Admission
I applied to several colleges like St Joseph Devagiri, KMO Arts and science college, Holy Cross College, MES College Kallanthode, WMO Muttil etc. I chose SAFI over these because of the affordable fee and campus infrastructure also i had my friends there. Then the main advantage is that there is no politics in our campus. The students union gives priority to talented individuals not parties. I had a good time 2 years in this college. Eligibility is that the student should have 80% above score in 12th . Should be no year gap more than 3 years. AICTE approved course and college. Admission process was so smooth i didn't have to roam here and there and waste my time. There were staffs to assist each stages of admissions.
Faculty
The faculties are so well educated, experienced and interactive with the students. Most of the faculties are young and they have skills in their fields. We can approach faculties anytime even out of college hours. They are always active to clear our doubts and problems, our mentors maintain a personal relationship with us that we can talk any topics to them freely. Personally my favourite faculties are Sneha Mam and Lulu mam.. They tech Maths for us, rather than being a teacher, they are my elder sisters. They care of our personal issues and every small problems.. I don't have any faculty that i don't like.. everyone are nice to us in our department. We have 6 exams in a year. Four internal exams and two external exams conducted by the university. First 3 semesters, most of the students clears the exams without fail. after that i heard that the no of fails increases. The first year curriculum is a bit outdated but still our faculties and department teaches the up to date technology while taking the curriculum.
