What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is green and lively. The infrastructure is pretty good compared to some of the neighbouring colleges.
- Every department has it's own building. The labs have pretty much everything required and maybe also more than enough.
- The faculties are friendly and kind to help you at any situation. The campus is diverse with people from all the regions of India.
Dislikes
- The food truck/canteen is not worth a try. Basic food but overpriced as hell.
- There are frequent traffic jams just outside the college which is a bit of concern for the day scholars.
- Reaching the departments inside of the main gate is also a work to do!
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum changes every year as of I've heard from my seniors. Our branch has tied up with Bosch,Toyota and Volvo for providing the in hand experience of the technology present in Automobiles. We have a Volvo diesel engine placed just inside the department. We have labs which also focus of EV developments in the cars.
Placement Experience
Talking about my course (AU), the placements have seen a linear slope increase. Even though recession has hit several mncs I don't think our jobs are affected as such. Because we have much more of field work rather than just sitting in a cubicle with theoretical knowledge. I am planning to do my masters abroad after getting my bachelor's degree. Leading companies which come for recruitment are Diamler, Toyota, Volvo, Bosch etc etc. The average package is decent in my terms 7-8LPA. Nowadays it matters much more on your skill level and your ability of problem solving. So it's in your hands what package do you take while graduating from the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for 1st year in Automobile Engg has costed me 126745. I haven't opted for hostel so this is only the tuition fees mentioned. The hostel fees is around 1.8-2 Lakhs per annum. The college environment is good and the syllabus isn't that stressful either.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is really good. The campus is lush green. Average sized playground, a tennis court, a basketball court and also a squash court. We also have a nice mid sized gym with all the equipment requirements. There are almost 3-4 libraries among which 2 of them are huge. There are 2 annual fests conducted Vibrations and Furore. The cultural governing body is called CPA(Centre for Performing Arts). It has around 10-15 clubs covering almost all the aspects in which a student might be interested. There are also a RC flight team (Arcis) and a motorsport team.
Admission
I chose DSCE for automobile engineering because this was the best one among all the others I had shortlisted for the course. It was also in pretty good terms in everyone's mind. The admission process was not a hustle at all. The students should have a scanned copy of all the necessary documents in their mobile. They are then led to use the college admission portal in which you have to upload your documents and register yourself. Later the fees is paid and the process is completed after signing a admission ledger and recieving a acknowledgement certificate.
Faculty
The faculties are actually pretty friendly atleast the ones who are teaching us. They are easily approachable directly or indirectly. I like my civil sir who is a just as close as a friend. There are 3 internals. You need to have atleast 80% attendance to write them.
Other Applied Colleges
