Course Curriculum Overview

2

The specific aspect of the curriculum which attracted me was the bba honours program as it offered specialisation in finance marketing and human resource in the final year (3rd year). The curriculum is outdated as the faculty themselves say , but it still gives you a great idea about the industry. There should be practical subjects and soft skills training in the curriculum. Mid semester examination once a semester, which is easy. End semester examination once a semester which is comparatively difficult.

Internships Opportunities

5

There's a winter internship offered in the college in the month of January after the 5th semester which is compulsory for the student. We're made to submit a form where we can choose the city and the role that we're applying for.

Placement Experience

3

From 5th semester. EY GDS , DELTAX , DITTO INSURANCE AND HSBC GSC have visited our campus as of now. Highest package was 6lpa and the average is 4 lpa. There's a high percentage of students getting placed and students applying. My plan is MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition Fee 63,900 Examination Fee 3,300 Social Activity Charges 4,500 Library Fee 7,500 , this is the fees for all the semesters with little changes. There was no scholarship provided to me. This college is not funded my state government hence the fees is on the higher side.

Campus Life

1

The name of our annual college festival is INVICTUS which is specifically done by the Management department of the college (BBA) The library is massive and the resources are huge. Classroom is totally modern and advanced. There's no scope for sports and extracurriculars , college lacks in this aspect. There's no student social groups clubs or portals.

Admission

I applied for the St Xavier's college park street, The bhawanipur education society and the St Xavier's University Newtown, in the courses of BBA and BCOM. I got into every college except St Xavier's park street. I chose JD Birla because of its better brand name and goodwill over other Colleges. I got rejected in the SXC Park St because of my poor performance in its BMS entrance examination . The admission process is online, the cut off is pass percentage in 10th and 12th , there's extra points for maths and there's also a group discussion round before the final selection.

Faculty

5

The faculty to student is 20:1. The faculty is really approachable and kind. The faculty is really good and experienced. There's mid semester examinations which are usually very easy , assignments are easy as well and the end semester examinations which is difficult because the paper is set by jadavpur university. I really like bhargav majumder sir, it's because of his approachable attitude.

Interview Experience

5

There was group discussion before the admission. The topic of the GD was Indian economy and how we can improve it. . There were 10 students and 3 panel members, I prepared for the group discussion on spot because the topic wasn't known to us.

Other Applied Colleges

The Bhawanipur Education Society College - [BESC] | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] {Hons.}

I didn't opt for this college because the timings didn't match my schedule, it was morning and but I wanted the morning to my self because of my yoga schedule and the family time.

For the year 23-24 70+ companies came to the college for recruitments and 500+ offers were given over all the departments. I aim to do my MBA after getting the degree but depending upon the placement I get plans might change
