Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is very good and to the point. It consists of the subjects relevant to the branch I chose, specially it consists more of practically subjects which are intresting to learn and are very applicable in real world.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college provides it's own internship as well as internship from other companies. In my first year I did paid internship provided from the college for VLSI and the college charged 5000rupees for it. In my second year I did Paid internship under the college for Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing. Every year the college conducts a viva round based on the internship of 20marks. Which are later converted into credit scores to be added to our degree.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placement after 6th semester. A student after completing 3rd year has two option to either choose 8th or 7th semester to study in the college and in later semester the student can either work for a company as in a practice school or work on a particular project in the college under the guidance of a professor. The college also provides pre-placement training to the students from 5th semester to make the students aware and prepare them for the placement interviews and help them build skills for a diverse profile. I have no information about the off-campus placement facilities the college provides as now. The success ratio of the college in placement is 96%. This year I.e 2024 the highest placement was for 34lakh per annum at Flipkart.

Fees and Financial Aid

The entire fees for 4 years is 8lakh rupees without hostel.Year wise I pay 1.75lakh via student loan. The fees for Non-AC Hostel is 40000 per year and AC Hostel is 80000 per year. Yes the college does accept scholarship from Central and State Government. I have got an amount of rupees 640000 till date via State Government scheme. Tha Caution fees is 5000 rupees. The admission fees was rupees was rupees 50000. Now the tuition fees have increased as the now the institute is converted into an University but back then at my time of admission it was a semi-autonomous college under BPUT.

Campus Life

2

In terms of college fest this college is very poor in this aspect. Very poor and bad arrangement of the fests. Only two culutural fest, I.e. Rythmnova and Xygon in one academic year which is very blant and is organised in very poor manner. Rythmnova is a musical fest by music club and Xygon is a musical fest by cultural club. No celebrity concert nothing the college is very financially backward when it comes to these terms. There are many clubs in the college but they are manipulated by the seniors and hostel students it's like the hostel students discuss amongst themselves and get into the clubs and only a few day-scholars are considered in the clubs. I have had a very pathetic experience when in terms of clubs.

Admission

I had applied to CET,Bhubaneswar; PMRC Berhampur and IIIT Bhubaneswar. I could not make it to these institutions because of my poor JEE score though I had got offer of Integrated BSc course in CET, Bhubaneswar yet, I didn't go for it because the course was not according to my future goals expectations. Apart from these I had option in other private colleges like KIIT,Bhubaneswar and ITER,SOA University, Bhubaneswar the two top private colleges of Odisha yet I didn't choose these because they are very expensive and also have a very toxic and Ellie student atmosphere to which I thought won't suit me in long run. I chose Silicon University because I had heard from aluminis who are my elderly cousins that it has very strict study environment and good placement opportunities too. To get admission in Silicon University, one can either apply via JEE/OJEE counselling processes else one can also directly approach the institute for admission. The institute also conducts its own counselling sessions in neighbouring states like Jharkand.

Faculty members are very good, calm and nice except a few. They very professional with the course and also share a very good bond with the students. We have 8 semesters. In each semester we have one mid-semester exam in which each exam is of 25 marks. There's a repeat mid-semester exam facility for those who miss the main mid-semester exam. After mid-semester we have internal exams, which consists of: 1) Quiz(MCQ Test) of 5 marks 2) Surprise Test of 5 marks 3) and 5 marks are given internally by the teachers. After this we have finally the End-semester exam of 60 marks. Those who miss the end-semester exam they can attend the supplementary exam at end of academic year. All of these total to 100marks Apart from this we also have practical exams of 100marks.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Curriculum is like ok for an govt engineering college not like an iit/nit. There are many departments where equipments are very old & haven't changed for a long time. Exams are conducted very fast like mid sem is conducted in 1/1.5 months and end sem is in 2 months

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
