Electronics Hobby Club (EHC) is a nonprofit and self-governing independent organisation of current or part students of JIST. The club and its members have excelled in various fields such as autonomous robotics, manual robotics, circuit designs, complex programming using modern microcontrollers, and sensor circuitries. Members have also won various technical competitions conducted at universities and engineering colleges across India, including IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, Tezpur University, Nagaland University, and Dibrugarh University The EHC in its capacity has organised many technical events and seminars at the institute. The club has also coordinated many professional workshops conducted by reputed organisations.
Course Curriculum Overview
The BE course in Power Electronics and Instrumentation same as E & I offered by other AICTE affilated institute across india.The course structer deals with control system and electrical mesuarement .Power Electronics , controll system and electrical lab also available

There are techfest name Abeyaantrix.It is one of best fest in entite northeast .There are many shows from rock show to playback singing competition . Famoush Bollywood singer Gajendra verma was come during Abx 2014
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structer is average .Since it is govt college so it is less . Approx 5000 per semester.Other exam fees are extra these varry between 1300 to 2000The college offers bachelor's courses, Bachelor of Science in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Information Technology, and BE in the fields of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Power Electronics Instrumentation Engineering. From academic year 2016-17 the institute has offered MSc Physics and Mathematics and Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.[3] From the academic year 2017-18 JIST introduced MSc Chemistry with the approval of Dibrugarh University. Formally all the courses were affiliated to Dibrugarh University until 2017. From 2017-18 academic year the institute is affiliated to Assam Science and Technology University
Fees and Financial Aid
You can get NEC scholarship provided by DTE assam and also you can get SUHRID scholarship provided by mla.And you can get ishan uday scholarship in which it provide approx 6000 per month. There is also minority scholarship provided

Computer lab Edit The college has a modern computational laboratory with the facilities of many branded PCs connected with each other through LAN. Each core department has its own computing facilities.

ts tasks involve establishing contacts with the companies, conducting workshops for the students to train them on both technical and non-technical aspects, conducting preliminary tests, group discussions, personality development talks and any other kind of placement related activity. Equipped with all the facilities, the T&P Cell holds pride in meeting all the requirements of different companies as a part of the placement process. It has provided many jobs to its final year students

Faculity are very good .Max Faculity are posgraduated from well known university. Hod is phd holder from IIT KGP.There is also Tequip faculity available .These are from reputed NIT and IIT. They took special clases for GATE exam
