Real reality of DEV BHOOMI UTTRAKHAND UNIVERSITY.

My course curriculum was fine. Exam difficulty was not that hard. It was really really easy. I thought I'll be getting more practical knowledge then theory and more creative exams then the normal one. Exam frequency and duration were good. We had class test two times, one time mid term examination and then end term examination that is the final semester exam. Teacher's teaching method was not good according to me. They could have been more practical and creative about the practical subject. Theory subjects they taught very nicely.

My college didn't provide proper internship opportunities. Half of them were sent to an export house that was provided my teachers not college. And half of them did visual merchandising internship because of me. I searched of this internship opportunity for my self and my rest of the classmates. College did nothing for my internship.

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Not many good companies came for my course. Package was around 300000-450000 per annum. And for the position like fashion consultant. No designers came for placements, only in retail sector and merchandise sector. I'm my course highest package was around 500000/annum. My classmates we're hungry for jobs so they all got same job in the same company around 8 of them for 2.5lakhs/ annum. Because my plan is to work with a designer and in the designing industry and my college didn't provide me designer. I searched on my own a designer and currently doing internship under them. And my college also doesn't provide degree before 7-8 months. I don't know why. My friend who is currently doing MBA(2nd year) did BBA from my college, didn't get his degree till now.

Total tution fee per yearly is around ?60000. They took around 6k for registration and admission fee. They take fee for everything; for college fest, events, educational trips and many more. I thought course is affordable but little little fees that was not included in the tuitions made me pay around 80k yearly.

Social life is good during the time of events and college fest. And college provided different types of events and opportunities for our students. So many extracurricular activities. I loved them all. And not only in my department, it's there in all the departments

I choose this college then other college because of my friends and the location(Dehradun). I was going for UPES(Dehradun) and I almost got selected in the Whistling Woods International (Goregaon, Mumbai) but I came here. When I thought I should go to UPES, Dehradun, the entrance examination was already finished. In my case, because my course is fashion designing, if I compare it to other colleges we lack so much. I'm my college they didn't teach us golden ratio(the most important thing in aspects of designing) . No creativity and no competition. Everyone is doing same thing. My admission experience was fine but they scammed me by saying that seats are almost full but when I got the admission I came to know that I was the first one to take the admission in my course.

Few of my faculties were really really good like they knew the concept of studying fashion designing and understood everything and they were really supportive. But some of them were good as nothing. They used to give assignments which were not creative (which is required in this course) and only the type we're student will copy everything from pinterest. I'm very very thankful to my Dean Miss Deepa Arya. She was really good and supportive and she was always there for us. And she used to arrange new events and fashion show so that we can have practical knowledge too. Not in my department I've seen in other departments that teachers they do not care about students and are racist. My friend who is in the department of hotel management, he faced racism from his Dean. I've seen politics and lots of bad things happen because of faculties in other departments.
