Likes

There are many opportunities to grab upon in terms of academics and extracurricular.
Girls and boys ratio almost equal in design
Really life the campus infrastructure and the the overall greenery

Dislikes

I don't like management over here in different things like fests and all
Didn't like the medical services over here. The infirmary acts as a coorparate work. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Sometimes there is communication gap between teachers and students

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good. It also depends on the teacher who is teaching. Sometimes it varies with batch to batch as the faculty is different. The curriculum prepares us well as it teaches from the very basic. We have time to time exhibitions. People can visit. It's a good thing to boost confidence.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 500000 per year

Internships Opportunities

In first year there is compulsory social internship the programe name is srijan. It is a 2 month internship.also in 3rd year there is internship. There are different companies involved. Sometimes people also get PPO .

Placement Experience

Campus placement is okay. As a design student you have to find placements on your own. Big companies like tata,Infosys,bina etch .come.My plan is to either study further or take a job as to gain experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 5lakhs + the accomodation charges. Scholarships were merit based and based on govt. Exams. I don't have any reservation category.It is quite high as for a normal person but Pvt. Colleges in India have feelings structure like this only so okay.

Campus Life

Uurja,spandan are two of them. The accessibility of books is good. You have to return it within 7 days. The facilities within the classroom are good. Projection electricity is there. For extracurricular and sports events are there. Students run clubs are there. Adi is a student led chapter of design .overall the campus life is good

Admission

I applied to IIAD,UPES,ISDI. I choose this college because first of all I liked the curriculum and faculty over here. Also I want to explore more cities in my life which includes dehradun. I was selected in the above mentioned uni. The admission process is simple. First you need to give test and then interview round in which you have show your portfolio

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is 1 is to 30. The faculties are approachable but the new faculties somewhat lack communication. We have our submissions every 2 weeks and at the end of the semester jury is there .

All about upes you need to know

Placement Experience:

In 3 rd year students geet internship upes tries to bring paid internships which are beneficial and from 6th semester students are eligible for placements but there was an external case last or a year before were a students was hired from 2 nd year by adidas for like 50 lakhs per annum which is very good package in design according to me and i think 70 percent students gets the placements they can improve very much in design

College is overall great to study and have peace time

Placement Experience:

Highest placemet from college was 88Lakhs and avg is around 6-8 lakhs a year. Major companies come for B tech cse students for example Amazon, Google, Antlasian and other minor companies. From 6th-7th sem students can apply and go for placement. I have plans of getting the degree ini got a high paying job i wll continue with that or i will join indan armed forces. Not all students get placement.

Real reality of DEV BHOOMI UTTRAKHAND UNIVERSITY.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Not many good companies came for my course. Package was around 300000-450000 per annum. And for the position like fashion consultant. No designers came for placements, only in retail sector and merchandise sector. I'm my course highest package was around 500000/annum. My classmates we're hungry for jobs so they all got same job in the same company around 8 of them for 2.5lakhs/ annum. Because my plan is to work with a designer and in the designing industry and my college didn't provide me designer. I searched on my own a designer and currently doing internship under them. And my college also doesn't provide degree before 7-8 months. I don't know why. My friend who is currently doing MBA(2nd year) did BBA from my college, didn't get his degree till now.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are average I'll tell u the truth there nothing to lie about UPES is a private university so u cannot expect a too high amount of package unless you're the lucky one Here the average package varies from 8 LPA to 12 LPA which is ok And if i dont get the placement here there's nothing to worry about I'll try different methods to find a job or I'll just start a startup with my father

Overall good experience and okayish college

Nothing influenced me but yes the recruiter of DIT University sure did influence my father to get into this college, although if i was a first year admission now I would be kind of happy as they actually are getting some help from the college to understand the course in a better way but it did not happen in our case, but over all it's a good experience as you learn alot yourself

School Of Design Life at UPES

Remarks:

Overall a positive experience here. Good improvements have been seen now from 2 years. The curriculum, the teachers, activities, all things have been improved. I can suggest someone to get here in my opinion.

I applied in nid only if i had qualified the 2nd round i would have gone for it but my second option was upes because there are not many design colleges and upes has a good design reputation in market but not more than nid so it was my second option. I had many colleges invitation like d y patil or lpu or pearl but not very good reputation so i rejected them. I applied for many private colleges and one government college which was NID (National Institute of Design) which is one of the top colleges for design but unfortunately i wasnt able to clear the exam so i went for UPES dehradun mainly because of the mountains and aesthetics and the weather because rest of the private colleges didn't have anything special and that would've been boring so yeah....Read More

My admission process was pretty smooth. I was admitted based on my mid results and a small interview which felt like a nice discussion with the interviewer where I got to show my work, interest areas, aspirations, etc. You will be provided with an application form from the website or you can visit the campus where you will also get a tour of the campus.
