What Students Say

Likes

The infrastructure & all the necessary equipments & labs are there
The faculties are highly qualified. they are PHDs or IITs passouts.
The batch size is approximate which doesn't create more crowd per batch.

Dislikes

Management system of the university in general is poor
Transportation facility & connectivity is not good
The food in the campus hostel is not that good.

Course Curriculum Overview

I think the curriculum is quite relevant to the real world. The course curriculum is more of theoretical and less of practical, which is bit of a negative point. The faculties are quite good in their field which is pros for the students.

Internships Opportunities

I've just completed my 2nd year, So I've not come across the internship opportunities by myself. But interacting for seniors I've got to know that internships are provided but they are not better than what internships students do personally.

Placement Experience

Being a Private College, placement are offered but the package is not up to the mark. The fees is preety high but the placements are not. Also placement is not 100% especially for School of Design. Hence most of the students don't go for on campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships are easily available. There are many options for it and the criteria is bare minimum. But I personally think the fees is bit on the upper end as compared to the other colleges for the same course.

Campus Life

Campus life is Quite amazing. The location & good weather makes it feel like heaven. There are many different clubs offered by the college and also student chapters for various fields. The intrest is also quite nice.

Admission

The entrance exam & cutoff was quite cool. It was not much of a hustle. As I stated earlier the management system is quite poor hence the admission process was not that smooth. The mails received didn't clearly mention the process after getting the offer letter.

Faculty

The faculties are highly qualified, especially in School of Design. Quite few of them are PHDs and most of them are IITs passouts. The knowledge and teaching skills of the faculty members are quite impressive. Also they are helpful and easily approachable.

Interview Experience

4.5

For the entrance, I had a online MCQ test and post that I had an Personal Interview round. Both the rounds were easy going. Also the scholarships provided were based the performancein both the rounds.

All about upes you need to know

Placement Experience:

In 3 rd year students geet internship upes tries to bring paid internships which are beneficial and from 6th semester students are eligible for placements but there was an external case last or a year before were a students was hired from 2 nd year by adidas for like 50 lakhs per annum which is very good package in design according to me and i think 70 percent students gets the placements they can improve very much in design

College is overall great to study and have peace time

Placement Experience:

Highest placemet from college was 88Lakhs and avg is around 6-8 lakhs a year. Major companies come for B tech cse students for example Amazon, Google, Antlasian and other minor companies. From 6th-7th sem students can apply and go for placement. I have plans of getting the degree ini got a high paying job i wll continue with that or i will join indan armed forces. Not all students get placement.

The course is creative and being a creative person myself, I wanted to dive in this field. Plus design in the modern world is a much required job in every aspect. The only negative point i felt, unlike other courses the assignments here were tough and compulsory.

Real reality of DEV BHOOMI UTTRAKHAND UNIVERSITY.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Not many good companies came for my course. Package was around 300000-450000 per annum. And for the position like fashion consultant. No designers came for placements, only in retail sector and merchandise sector. I'm my course highest package was around 500000/annum. My classmates we're hungry for jobs so they all got same job in the same company around 8 of them for 2.5lakhs/ annum. Because my plan is to work with a designer and in the designing industry and my college didn't provide me designer. I searched on my own a designer and currently doing internship under them. And my college also doesn't provide degree before 7-8 months. I don't know why. My friend who is currently doing MBA(2nd year) did BBA from my college, didn't get his degree till now.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are average I'll tell u the truth there nothing to lie about UPES is a private university so u cannot expect a too high amount of package unless you're the lucky one Here the average package varies from 8 LPA to 12 LPA which is ok And if i dont get the placement here there's nothing to worry about I'll try different methods to find a job or I'll just start a startup with my father

Campus placement is okay. As a design student you have to find placements on your own. Big companies like tata,Infosys,bina etch .come.My plan is to either study further or take a job as to gain experience.

Overall good experience and okayish college

Course Curriculum Overview:

Nothing influenced me but yes the recruiter of DIT University sure did influence my father to get into this college, although if i was a first year admission now I would be kind of happy as they actually are getting some help from the college to understand the course in a better way but it did not happen in our case, but over all it's a good experience as you learn alot yourself

School Of Design Life at UPES

Remarks:

Overall a positive experience here. Good improvements have been seen now from 2 years. The curriculum, the teachers, activities, all things have been improved. I can suggest someone to get here in my opinion.

I applied in nid only if i had qualified the 2nd round i would have gone for it but my second option was upes because there are not many design colleges and upes has a good design reputation in market but not more than nid so it was my second option. I had many colleges invitation like d y patil or lpu or pearl but not very good reputation so i rejected them. My admission process was pretty smooth. I was admitted based on my mid results and a small interview which felt like a nice discussion with the interviewer where I got to show my work, interest areas, aspirations, etc. You will be provided with an application form from the website or you can visit the campus where you will also get a tour of the campus.
