Golden days of life

Pros : Students are really good, you'll get a family among them. Birthdays are always special. College provides bus service at nominal cost to roam around the city. Cons : Higher authorities won't listen to you so easy. Don't expect much from the mess food. Time limits are there for the girls.

Course is good if you want to pursue your career in Power Electronics/Systems and Control Systems Engineering. Structure is basically semester wise. One year(2 sem) of course work and last 2 semesters for your research work. In first year, you go through regular exams and in final year, you have to prepare presentations and write up your thesis work.

Placements and jobs are not that good as compared to Iit's. But if you are pursuing your bachelor's or masters in computer science or electronics, you can get a decent job. Companies like Infosys, IBM, EATON, Cummins, etc are some of them. For Masters, opportunities are less, but i got placed in EATON. Yes, college provides internship. Lot of companies come in 3rd year for bachelor's. Not so much exposure of internship for masters. For bachelor's, there is no such stipend but for master's it is set to 12400 per month by MHRD for two year course.

1- Tarang : Cultural fest , at inter college level. Many institutions participate every year. Happens around October. 2- GUSTO : Sports fest, at inter college level. Lot of local colleges from Jabalpur and many iiit's participate in this event. Happen every year around January and February. 3- Abhikalpan : Tech fest. Lot of hustle and bustle with prizes and money to be won. March is the time for this.

At my time, it was feasible, around 30000 per semester(excluding mess fee). One can easily afford with stipend in hand. Now, it gets almost doubled(70000 per semester), which makes it quite expensive (need to check). Mess fee is around 2400 per month.

I got the stipend of 12400 per month, other than that there are several scholarships for SC/ST and other students with their parents having low annual income. Government provide scholarship(tuition fee waived off) to bachelor's students whose father's/mother's annual income is less than 6 lakh.

There are many groups which you can join and all have their own events going on all around the year. Some of them are Badminton club, Cricket club, gymkhana club, senate, mess committee, etc. College has a big cricket and football ground, basketball court (cemented), badminton court (indoor, cemented), tennis court, TT tables, volleyball ground and others. Laboratories are equipped with needed scientific instruments. For research purpose, you have labs equipped with fast PC's, to perform heavy tasks.

Hostel is compulsory for everyone. Infrastructure is good and depends from hostel to hostel. You get canteens in every hostel. But Harsh canteen is quite famous in Hall-4. Other than that, cleanliness is decent.

I have not get connected yet as i recently passed out of college. But yes, there are several meetings which happens around the year with the alumni. For that purpose, college has a alumni association group which is handled by many good professors. Alumni surely are helpful which provide funds for several causes.

Faculties were really good, specially the technical ones(All are PhD's as it's a central government institute). They will guide you through the semester course work. Some of them for sure are not that good, but you'll find yourself at good stage after the exams as most of the faculties prepare question paper from the course work itself.
