Scholarships are very well provided in our college as it is a central government institution.fee structure is such that 2.5 lakhs per year that is 1.25 for each semesters.and the campus provides 100 percent placement for its students

Campus life is very much strict and highly decorum maintained lifestyle.It is almost similar to NDA and all which includes parades, musterings, physical training and academic activities which is specially designed to build a good mariner who is fit for sea life.the infrastructure and technological based studies are world class where new generation study systems are implemented in a generous manner including engine room simulator,advanced worksop including main engine of the shop and almost all machineries onboard ship.Social commitment during college life is very much considered during this course where many social activities including coastal cleaning, and many other activities

Hostel facility is included in the campus itself in which it's fee is also included in the course fee.hostel room consist of 2 students with 2 bed and cupboards and 2 fans.meal is also provided from the college mess where they serve very delicious food which includes chicken, mutton, vegetables etc.

Admission process is based on a national level entrance examination called imu common entrance test.course eligibility is plustwo pcm above 70 ft or btech and above 60 for bsc nautical science programm.entrance test include plustwo pcm and general knowledge plus aptitude and english.The placement rate in imu Chennai campus attracted me very much by providing 100 percent placement and the facilities and faculties available there is the best in the field

As the college is based on marine industry it is very important that the faculties has to be experts in this field,here we have majority of such faculties including master Mariners and experts in the same field

For the admission to IMU campuses we have to clear the entrance examination named IMU CET. Based on this rank the admission procedure is done. It is an all India level examination which covers 12 th based physics chemistry mathematics and general knowledge. And the ranklist will be published afterwards and the admission is done accordingly which is purely based on the rank and merit
