Likes
- The thing I liked the most is I didn't feel that I missed out something when it comes to course quality, the teachers were very supportive and lab were regular and also companies do come here so if u will study a bit u can get a job on campus
- College also support cultural activities so every year I have seen my seniors organising fest plus I guess after every 3-4 month I have seen some department is organising their own small competition where u can participate in different games
- The infrastructure of the college is decent and clean so you can have your fun time with your friends,we usually play basketball here so yeh u can do that
Dislikes
- So the game room that we have here is a bit messy like I the condition of that room can be improved I feel like it's the fault of students cuz they don't keep the pieces of indoor game at the right place after playing
- The area where the college is placed is not that great like there are lots of small cafe here but i don't know I just don't enjoy the food much
- There is no boy hostel available inside the campus for engineering department ,boy hostel are outside the campus that's why I don't live in hostel but my friends do
Course Curriculum Overview
So the course curriculum is pretty basic that you will see in almost every engineering college, yeah there could be some subjects which could be different for example in our college robotics was a subject but I have heard that some college don't have this subject in their cse curriculum so yehh you won't miss anything I would highly suggest my college to update the curriculum with some latest Stuff l can't pin point because I am no expert but yehh there is a Room for improvement, I would suggest to give extra focus on data structures and algorithms because those class problems were pretty basic. The frequency of exam were a bit fast in the starting years but then it get slow and it's actually good cuz In the end of your college year we get serious and now we have 6 month for a sem exam we can prepare for placement also but I remember In 14 month I was in 4th sem so that was a bit fast for us but it was also easy to catch up with but of hard work
Internships Opportunities
So I don't get paid internship but in each semester ardent used to come and give us training in different different area like machine learning, Android development, cybersecurity etc these were the few areas I got my training from ardent provided by my college the training duration were 2-3 week and 5hr every day ,also made small projects at the end of the training Plus college also provide us access to some courses available on Coursera which were paid but not for us, our college used to pay for those courses so we used to get free access
Placement Experience
So placement is decent company will start coming in the start of your 4th year and your training for campus drive will probably start in the mid of 5th semester so I will recommend you to take that traning seriously attend all the class u don't have to do much just don't bunk those classes and u will see the benefits of that in the start of your campus drive Companies like juspay,cognizant, litmindtree etc do come here Highest package cloud be 15lakh+ I'm not sure but the avg package were 6lakh, percentage of students are also great like 70% but every year this data changes due to recession and everything I'm planning for mtech
Fees and Financial Aid
So in the first sem I paid 80000 but after that I paid 42k-48k every semester I don't remember the exact fee but overall I'm gonna pay 4lakh during this 4 years of time it include everything like caution fee and every stuff,this 4 lakh is the final price but yehh I had to pay 1200 rs exam fee before every sem exam so that was extra money I had to pay.i'm not from West Bengal so I didn't get any scholarship but all the other friend of mine who is from WB applied for scholarship and they had to pay alot less amount than mine ,they never revealed it to me nd I was also not interested but yeh I will highly recommend you to apply for scholarship provided by the west bengal government. I also asked to my juniors about the current fee and they told me that fee has increased alot,I enrolled in 2021 so u can expect 5lakh for the 4year.
Campus Life
So the annual fest held in March the big one in which some bengali band or singer also come to perform and technical fest like electrocution etc held in the month of August So u will see chem lab electrical lab and mathematical drawing room in your first year then there are OS lab where u will work on unix operating system and DBMS lab for SQL also ai lab and etc There are also chess and coding club plus cyber security club also so u can participate in those clubs U can participate in modelling, quiz,chess competition, football etc and represent your college
Admission
So I gave my wbjee exam and according to my rank I applied for multiple college but then got Siliguri but it was too far from my house then in the 2nd round of councelling I got gnit and I heard they this college has decent placement history so I applied here for addmission
Faculty
The faculty students ratio is great and they are the nicest people of our college If you face any issue you will feel very confident to just go and talk about it. I would like to name one of the teacher sourish sir he is our mentor I met him in 2nd sem and then I saw him in my class in the 3rd year but he is a senior and very supportive teacher Our college conduct two unit test before the sem exam and the avg of both the test gets add up in sem result
