Likes
- The faculties are decent and few are very helpful but still you find issues in curriculum
- Flexible time tables are big plus and you will never be at stress
- You get to meet people around the country and will have a great time
Dislikes
- No proper labs is biggest con. Mainly for electronics
- Own hostel facility is still a big drawback post shifting campus
- College also doesnt seem like a iiit, the college is vwry small and even smaller than the local small colleges
Course Curriculum Overview
This curriculum mostly concentrates on contributing to it. It delivers less that it promises but the one whi can cope up the fast paced curriculum can do miracles. There would be continuous tests inorder to keep students on track but due to bad invisilation copying is very easy here. But still teaching methods are good but students are not much interested as always
Internships Opportunities
There were few companies like amazon, peoplestrong, GET, publicis sapient which came up with internship +PPO oputunutiea and apart from there there were many other opportunities too. The college projects also help to grow in future.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent but due to recession my batch has very less plaacementa and my juniors are even more woried and also movibg out if SVNIT is huge letback and the TNP is now divided and our TNP needs some more time to get into track
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee per semester for 2019 batch is 67500 per semester, and i have couple of friends who applied for scholarships and got them too. Mostly SC ST ones got scholarships and few OBC ones too. And also there would be some one time payments per years and also refundable amounts which never be refunded by college ones
Campus Life
Campus life is nothing here since we dont have a huge campus and no hostels even. But u can easily rooms nearby college and lots of food and great night life too. And there are lots of clubs in college which are active and u can give a chance to try out everything and no politics since students are less only
Hostel Facilities
There is no in campus hostel and the hostel is provided by some other school, it mostly had bad reviews only, but i have stayed in room near by college and it is good. You will have many options for rooms and also so many food options.
Admission
I have considered other iiits too and finally selected this college becuase it has its own campus now and also surat is a great city to enjoy and cutoffs of the college are improving now post adding female quota and also admission experience is smooth and decent
Faculty
Faculty members are knowledgable but the curriculum seems clumpsy, though the electronics also mix of more computer science subjects. But the examination system is not that hard but still papers are decent tough. Correction is also not that strict but passing in labs need a little skill
