Course Curriculum Overview

4

The mbbs curriculum is well planned and executed by the college and it touches all the field of the academic syllabus. The curriculum includes how the students have to approach the reality or people. The teaching methods they are currently following is okay no need for improvement in my opinion. The frequency of the exams are not predictable as exams are conducted roughly every month.

Internships Opportunities

4

After the final year the students must enroll in the compulsory 1year internship in the hospital itself after that only the certificate shall be issued. A total of rs 8000 is paid to the interns during the house surgency as stipend.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placements are not applicable in this type of course as the further higher studies are got through entrance exam. If one qualify the entrance examination he or she get admission for the pg course . The allotment procedures are same as that of ug admission .Top rank students get admission in top medical colleges in India or kerala.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees for my college is 850000 including hostel fees of Rs 125000 and additional 60000 is paid for the mess fees. A quotient deposit of Rs 15000 is paid during the time of admission. Various scholarships are available through the government sites.

Campus Life

5

The programmes conducted by my college is low but the students are trying their best to increase the frequency of the programmes. The college is equipped with a central library with almost all books related to the course. The lecture halls are equipped with latest technology smart boards and full air conditioned with 4+ Acs and surround sound systems. Basketball and badminton court is okay but the football ground and volleyball court needs improvement. There many students clubs to help each other like academic, dance , music, arts , sports clubs introduced in the college.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are mainly 5 hostels where 2 girls and 3 boys hostel and a staff quaters. The room is occupied with a bunker bed and an almirah , attached bathroom. In a room 2 students are allowed to stay. The food quality is poor. The hostel admission procedure is done during the college admission itself.

Admission

I opted for any colleges during the admission procedure through the government allotment. I got admission in mount zion medical College through my kerala rank through allotment . The eligibility for admission is through the national level exam conducted by the central government that is NEET UG exam for health education . After releasing the national ranklist the kerala government filter out their students and publish another kerala rank list through this admission to kerala medical colleges takes place.

Faculty

4

There are approximately 100:500 faculties to students ratio. The faculties of all departments are easily accessible and friendly. They are very helpful in clearing doubts and helps to understand the concept thoroughly. The exams are conducted by the university yearly by KUHS small exams like model and internal exams are conducted by the college. The exams are comparatively difficult one cannot pass after studying the previous day of the exam. The failure rate of the exams are 10-15 percentage .

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.
