Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course is CSE with DS, i choose this course because i love data management and data science. It is appealing and i really enjoy studying it. My course curriculum is pretty relevent to my course and it really shows when im in my classes and the subjects i'm studying talk about it. My curriculum is also organisized in such a way that is helps me prepare for real world organisations, for eg, in my course i have a subject called 'Mathematical foundationd for data science' which has topics like statistics and probility which have a wide realiton to real world topics and help me prepare for realy world application in accordance to my course. Although my course is good, it isn't perfect as i'd say it can be imporved to help the students more. Regarding examinations, the difficulty of the exams is standard whereas the timing of the exams seems odd, we don't get enough time to prime for our examinations and it eventually leaves the students really stressed and they don't end up performing up to their mark.

Internships Opportunities

3

My college has a lot of intership oppurtunities in 4rth year. compaines like oracle, amazon, bajaj, deloitte, flipkart, ICICI, infosys, etc offer interships and placements in my college with job oppurtunities like data analyts, assistant manager, software manager, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is spread across 4 years which is also the duration of my course. In the first year i paid 3,35,000 inr. Second year i paid net fee of 5,09,000. In the 3rd and 4th year i'll be paying the same fee of 5,09,000. So, the net fee amounts to 18,62,000 inr which is excluding my hostel fee. The fee increased compared to my first year by a substantial amount. Including my yearly hostel fee which is 1,84,116 inr, the net fee comes to total sum of 24,14,348 inr. The additonal caution fee paid is 10,000 inr. The fee of my batchmates is more or less the same except for the hostel fee which ultimately depends on the type of the hostel room they choose. There are scholarship programs available based on the entrance exam ranking.

Campus Life

5

My overall experiencw with campus life has been amazing. I have enjoyed everday of my life so far being in the hostel and being a part of this college. The club events are really well organized and helpul for additonal knowledge in which ever field you choose. We have clubs in different different fields like astronomy, cinematography, science, chess, sports, entreprenuership, business, finance, coding, computer science and many more. These clubs are backed by the faculty and are really helpful for the development and growth of students. The library has a large collection of books and the studetns can stay there at any time and access them wiht ease and study whenever they want to. The size of the library is pretty huge with a lot of seating space with good network connectrivity, air conditioning and a good environment with librarians always around to help you. The list of sport events happening in college is never endind with tournaments that always happen in sports like football, cricket and all. There is a huge football field and beautful cricket pitch that is well maintained. Every sem, the college has it's signature fests 'falak' and the tech fest 'tech solstice' that brign everyone together and makes the college environment really joyous.

Hostel Facilities

3

I have opted for a 2 sharing room with an attached washroom. Living in this hostel is almost like living in a well maintained 3-4 star hotel. It has proper ventilation and is home like to live in. The rooms are really huge and they're well maintained. They have facilities like vending machines, wifi, housekeeping, personal dustbins, etc. The rooms are proeprly furnished and well kept. The housekeeping is always at service at any time that you call them. They clean the room really well and leave it spotless. The wifi service can be improved as it's slow speeds and it gets difficult to study during exams. The mess service is really bad. The food lacks quality and is always oily. Students are left wiht no choice but to eat the mess food. The registration process for hostels was quite easy and ample amout of help was provided wiht luggage during shifting.

Admission

I choose this college over other colleges i appplied for because of it's status and connectivity and the fact that it's in Bengaluru, the dilicon valley of India. I also choose this college because of it's placement scheme and i was also told about this college from my friends. I applied to colleges like VIT, PES, SRM. i couldnt get in VIT because my rank wasn't good enough fro the course i wanted to do. I applied for some colleges abroad but i got rejected in the high profile colleges i applied because my addmission letter wasn't simply good enough and also because i just applied to them as a back up so i didn't really give it my all. i Got in SRM chennai but i changed my mind about going there because of the fact that it is in chennai and it's really far. I got a really low rank in PES university so i couldn't get into it. To get into my college, you just need to apply for the MET manipal entrance exam test, get a good rank and voila! Anyone is eligible to apply for the exam, there aren't any restrictions as such. The admission process is quite simple and easy.

Faculty

4

The facultly in my collge are well versed int heir respecive fields. They are very approachable and helpful in nature when it comes ti asking doubts regarding the subject or any academic problem you face. The are strict when they need to be and seet when they need to be but they never hesitate to offer help. There are atleast 4-5 teachers for one subject and they are distributed across different sections but any student can go to any teacher of that respective subject to ask for help. One of my favourite faculty members was Dr. varalaxmi who taught me math and i did really well in my semister exams because of her. Per sem, there are 3 set of exams, A quiz for 10 marks per subject, midsemister exams for 30 marks and end semister exams for 50 marks. In addition to these, we also have lab examinations and assignments to solve. The exam difficulty level is medium in terms of doability. Atleast 75-80 percent of the students manage to pass all the examinations. The course curriculum is pretty important well made.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

The location being chennai wasn't optimal for me as it was too far.

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I didn't get the rank required for the field i wanted.

PES University - [PESU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I got in this college but i found my current college better.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
