What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the campus. The canteen food tastes decent, it is affordable and made in decent cooking conditions as well. There's water coolers and pad disposers which are life saviours. The surroundings are kept neat, clean and tidy.
Dislikes
- Management is horrible. Student trustee is a huge joke. I don't know if it's just the ITCS department but some people need to be reminded that it's their job to work for students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is theory-based, and requires all the basic concepts to be clear as they're required in every subject in one way or the other. The concepts and methods taught in the first year still make an appearance even in the third year. The teaching methods could be improved, more focus should be given on making things interesting for students as opposed to the school-like monotonous teaching currently being applied.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees I've paid for the 2 semesters this year is 26k. Of these, the tuition fees are 10k, laboratory fees are 6k and project fees are 1.9k. Computer practical fees are 2.5k whereas the university exam fee is 2.4k. The remaining are other charges for other utilities like library, funds and so on. This is the fee structure for my category (open).
Campus Life
There are fests for every department, beginning from December end. There are days like Traditional day, Saree and Tie day, Mismatched day, Black and White day, Twin day and so on. There are smartboards installed in all the labs, but there is no air conditioning, save the seminar halls.
Admission
The admission process was fairly straightforward and only took about 2-3 days worth of time. There was first submission and verification of the application followed by the course fee payment. There is no concept of installments, it has to be paid all at once.
Faculty
A few of the faculty members are kind and extremely considerate regarding deadlines, exams, course load and so on. They are helpful and easy to approach regarding doubts or any kind of help needed. Most of the faculty members are easy-going, in the sense that none of them are really "strict".
