Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum teaches us the very basics of art and provides us with a scope into what taking up such a course will provide us with. Also, they show us the many different ventures you can go into with an art degree they sometimes do guest lectures and demos for practical work and this moreover enhances our college and study life

Internships Opportunities

2

We get to submit requests as to which companies we are interested in and also what internships we are looking for as we have a career guidance development cell thus far in college we have yet to get any internship in 2nd year offered but we are encouraged by mentors to seek internships

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

We pay every semester and we have odd and even semesters the 2nd semester usually is a bit more than our first semester and our fee per semester ranges from 18,000 to 19,000 we also have exams fees every semester exam which is paid separately from our semester fee financial aid is offered and you would have to apply for it for the scholarship you can avail scholarship from merit if you score the highest in a subject then they also have scholarships you can apply for in which you will have to submit certain details such as family annual income etc. they also have part-time on campus for students that are struggling for financial support

Campus Life

3.5

They have clubs available at our campus as well as many social events that happen on campus. Three clubs I'm part of are the western music club, Debate Club and the Girl Up Cell. Events such as inter-years and departmental events also take place they are usually held at the beginning half of our year in the month of July-August. Our department library has every book you will need for studying art as it's one of the oldest departments at stella alot of knowledge and information is available at our library and studio. They have sports selections for those interested and also have good facilities in the classroom such as a smart board aswell as a microphone system for a better audio and visual aid for the students

Admission

I had applied to namely 3 colleges stella Maris, SRM, and Jyothi nivas I had got into all the above listed and was also offered a scholarship for Jyothi nivas but despite that what attracted me towards Stella is their course they have a focus on both practical and theory and also offer painting aswell as design as a specialisation from 3rd year onwards the course is comprehensive and provides us with all the tools that can help us decide what the next step we want to choose is the admission for such a course was different as it requires practical knowledge and skills too we first get a mail for our acceptance along with a scheduled interview day with a batch of students then after the interview they shortlist students and then go ahead with a practical test in which you have to sketch and draw a still life that has been set-up after the test is finished they will post the final list of students on their college site.

Faculty

4

The faculty for fine arts is not a very huge faculty however we have a very good department and faculty facilities the staff are always available if needed and we also have a fine arts library for students of our department aswell as a studio we have a friendly relationship with all teachers some teachers not so much it depends very much on your performance and personality in college if your very introverted chances are they won't care as much but if your extroverted they will pay more notice to you it very much depends on your relationship towards the teachers we also have a mentor and mentee compulsory system at our college which we get allocated for and I'm this case we get to form a better bond with our mentors

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my course, the amount of memorizing content is a lot while also having enough room to for the critical thinking. Most of the useful courses are in the final year which might strain the student a bit. The exams are fairly easy and relevant to the study materials.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Has a lot of new age courses like MS Excel, Python and Data Science. It prepares you fairly well for roles like Data Analyst, Financial Modelling, etc. Areas for improvement include optimising the curriculum load as per the students. Two internals (one after a month after sem starts, second a few weeks before the end sem) and the end sem. I feel the end sem is relatively easier due to the preparation we endure for the internals.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For instance I choose Ba of Arts( English) as my major and it is something that helps me I think because as we all know that English is universal and in every part of the world English is so something that no one will not know, plus know the root cause of our life and founder of words is a really good thing to do in my opinion especially when you're from a different country and people consider you as outcast even if you are as patriotic as them. English is a subject that is really vast and i would say that because we have been studying history and social life right from the 12th to the 20th Century and that covera a wide range of things which could not have been more exciting. However we can improve in some areas like if there was a writing competition every Saturday so that people would step up to the stage and perform where their confidence would boost up and be a productive person in the near future. My weakness would be that I dnt know the deep words of the English and i lack form it

Remarks:

For the uniqueness of the course and it's value for my career prospects. B.A Defence and Strategic Studies offers amazing insight into the world of military as well as international relations. The best decision I ever made was to leave the options of BBA and law and pursue this as my passion and a future career.

Remarks:

The College faculty is expert in forcing the students to participate in certain certificate courses without taking care of the students's interest in that particular course by mentioning the course as compulsory even if it is not. The college seized the mobile phone of many students in first year thinking that the students are misusing, which i carried for a valid reason with class teacher's permission and they did not return my mobile phone till now in spite of apologizing many times through letters and also my parents went to the college for explaining the reason for carrying the mobile to the college and now it's been three years that the college seized the mobile phones of the students and did not return it till now.
