There is a new cbme curriculum in place It's quite decent Covers a lot, but also has many unnecessary things like logbooks But otherwise it's pretty comprehensive and helps everyone Subject division into years is also good

No companies, there's compulsory internship after our course of one year It's a fabulous experience We learn so so so so much Lots of exposure Get to know the reality of being a doctor You learn new things every day

Fees and Financial Aid

56,000 for 6 months Including 4000 for hostel NRIs had to pay 8Lac pa Reservation students had to pay half price All in all pricing was quite decent in my opinion EWS also pay less So there's many options for all categories

Campus Life

Sports is not big in our college, and Dean is not very supportive of extracurriculars But we try from our side We have plexus which is a cultural event And GOMECON which is an academic event We have music nights every month And student run clubs MSAI is very active as well as IMA

Admission

Admission is based on NEET scores I wanted AFMC, but missed the cut off (610) by 3 marks I applied for this college by AIQ It was my first choice after AFMC It was mainly because of the location And also is the oldest medical college in Asia And patient exposure is very very good

Failure are not too many In final year we had around 40%, but most passed in supplementary exam We have 2 semesters and 1 final with prelims All faculty area great, especially the final year ones All are very sincere For clinic, the ratio is 30:1

Goa medical College reveled

Course Curriculum Overview:

The academics here is really great. They focus much on clinical aspects rather than on non clinical. The SGDs( small group discussion) and SDLs( self Directed learning) are better approachable form to reach students here they make a small group of five students per teacher for the discussion and gives a topic for the discussion. One improvement I will suggest is to use animated videos more in lectures rather than written slides. Frequency and timings of exams are perfectly coordinated (somewhat frequency is more????) that gives a better time and pressure to revise the contents taught.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is cbme based this meets the international standards and students can attampt usmle aslo. The course give u exposure to real world scenarios. The course is good as it is. The exams take place every semester and end of the year finals. Moderately difficult to clear.

Goa medical college follows the CBME guidlines prescribed by NMC. There are 2-3 hours of lectures every day and there are clinics rotation in the wards. 1st and 2nd year students have lot of journal work

Goa CET, scored 96% marks and opted cause its in my hometown and good faculty and good patient load and good experience. Admission process is very easy and straight forward as this is a government college.

Bachelor of optometry in Goa medical college

I wanted to try for armed forced medical college as I wanted to serve the army along with the medicine and other requirements but was not possible as I couldn't score much in neet and I had to settle for whatever I was getting and I was happy with it.
