Goa CET, scored 96% marks and opted cause its in my hometown and good faculty and good patient load and good experience. Admission process is very easy and straight forward as this is a government college.
Course Curriculum Overview
5 years course with 1 year internship. First year is anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. Second year is microbiology, pathology and pharmacology. Third year is ent, opthalmology and preventive and social medicine. Final year is surgery, medicine and obg.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is compulsory 1 year. Rotation is between various clinical departments. The 1 year is very hectic with lot of night duties but we get to learn a lot of practical things. Stipend is 12000.
Placement Experience
No placement companies come to college. Once passed you are on your own and have to opt for post graduation or some other job or start your private practice.
College Events
There is the annual gathering at kala academy. Then there is an intercollegiate tournament where colleges from goa participate. Some batches may organise additional activities.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Around 15000 per semester with a total of 10 semesters. Reasonable fees with extra for examination fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarships as far as i know in the college. Some private scholarships may be available. Student loans are as given by various banks. Not personally availed any of the above facilities so not much idea.
Campus Life
Campus life is very good. Many extracurricular activities keep happening. All religious festival are celebrated equally. Quizzes are arranged from time to time. Sports day and tournaments are also frequent.
Exam Structure
Exams are frequent in 1st year which is extremely hectic with no time for other activities. Second year is coolest with a lot of free time for other activities. Final year again is stressful.
Faculty
Faculty is experienced and helpful. The teachers are regular and take a great deal of interest in the students. The teachers are strict as far as course is concerned but otherwise helpful. However some faculty are a bit lazy.
