Entrance Preview

Goa CET, scored 96% marks and opted cause its in my hometown and good faculty and good patient load and good experience. Admission process is very easy and straight forward as this is a government college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

5 years course with 1 year internship. First year is anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. Second year is microbiology, pathology and pharmacology. Third year is ent, opthalmology and preventive and social medicine. Final year is surgery, medicine and obg.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is compulsory 1 year. Rotation is between various clinical departments. The 1 year is very hectic with lot of night duties but we get to learn a lot of practical things. Stipend is 12000.

Placement Experience

2.5

No placement companies come to college. Once passed you are on your own and have to opt for post graduation or some other job or start your private practice.

College Events

3

There is the annual gathering at kala academy. Then there is an intercollegiate tournament where colleges from goa participate. Some batches may organise additional activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Around 15000 per semester with a total of 10 semesters. Reasonable fees with extra for examination fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarships as far as i know in the college. Some private scholarships may be available. Student loans are as given by various banks. Not personally availed any of the above facilities so not much idea.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is very good. Many extracurricular activities keep happening. All religious festival are celebrated equally. Quizzes are arranged from time to time. Sports day and tournaments are also frequent.

Exam Structure

Exams are frequent in 1st year which is extremely hectic with no time for other activities. Second year is coolest with a lot of free time for other activities. Final year again is stressful.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is experienced and helpful. The teachers are regular and take a great deal of interest in the students. The teachers are strict as far as course is concerned but otherwise helpful. However some faculty are a bit lazy.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The academics here is really great. They focus much on clinical aspects rather than on non clinical. The SGDs( small group discussion) and SDLs( self Directed learning) are better approachable form to reach students here they make a small group of five students per teacher for the discussion and gives a topic for the discussion. One improvement I will suggest is to use animated videos more in lectures rather than written slides. Frequency and timings of exams are perfectly coordinated (somewhat frequency is more????) that gives a better time and pressure to revise the contents taught.

I decided to choose this course when I was 14. Curriculum is well balanced for students so they can easily prepare for real world applications. Timings of classes can be changed. Exam timings are good but frequency is high.
