Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is changed each year considering new software and technology is introduced. You have to put in efforts and learn the course on time so that u arent behind. I believe during labs new topics should be taught and students should be made to code well instead of just leaving the student to code since the topic was taught days ago during the theory class.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

amazon. jp morgan ciasco tcs phillips deloitte dell tech adobe and many more. You can get internships if u apply regularly in the opportunies posted by the faculty members. stipend depends on ur performance and the type of job given.

Placement Experience

4

the placement cell is constantly trying to place the student with decent packages. I personally know few seniors who didnt do great in cllg but still got jobs with ?50,000 per month. The percentage of students getting placed is 100% but some get 3-4lpa and other gets 20+. The highest lpa ever offered was 50lpa and the average is 7-8lpa. I havent thought about my future after getting the degree yet.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee per semester is 2,50,000. Total fee for 4 yr course would be 20,00,000. This is including the hostel fees. tuition fees is above as mentioned. there is no lab fees. It is included in the semester fee itself. The exam fee is taken before each endsem which is of around ?300/- per subject and ?500/- for improvement. You can apply and get scholarships during the kiit official entrance exam depending on your score. The fee for my batchmate is same as mine unless they are a scholarship student. The amount of fee deducted is based on how well u perform in exams.

Campus Life

4.5

i had a great campus life. The campus is HUGE. it takes so long to just explore. The intime for girls hostel is very less. The boys are given more freedom. If u want to be a part of club(society) u can give the audition and get into it. There are many society u can join be it coding and or dance anything. everything is provided

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Personally I have bad experience. The hostel is nice for girls. There are many hostels. Some are 2 bed some are 3. There is premium with lift and better good and intime and personal washroom. it depends honestly. The moment u get admission and go on campus u will be guided through the process of getting a hostel there itself. The food is pretty decent and The ac and room is cleaned regularly. The menu is changed every month.

Admission

one of the reason i have to say is it has its own identity. It is right now the top 6th university in the country. The kiit tag does help in applying for job. I applied to Manipal university and i did get IT in it but i didnt choose manipal because of personal issues rather than the college itself. You have to perform well in the kiitee exam. The elegibilty for admission is that u need 60%+ in 10+2. It is pretty easy to get in the college. The admission process was easy.

Faculty

3

The girls to boys ratio which i didnt mention before is 50:50 in cse department. the teacher to student ration is 1:80. I have to say i like sankalp nayak who teachers many subjects like dbms and cn. althought he dosent give great marks, he is genuinely a nice person and a teacher and guides u well if u really want to suceed. there is one midsem and one endsem each semester. If any student fail to clear the subject they can give the back exam. they have time to clear the backlog too. The course if pretty revelent considering today's technology.

Placement Experience:

From the start of the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements. The placement used to be so good and the graph was increasing exponentially. But for to recession, last year's placements were not good at all. There was almost 100% placement in CSE, IT and CE branches and 80% in ETC and EEE. But due to the recession, it dropped drastically. The highest package provided on campus is 39LPA by media.net, taking only one student. The average salary used to be 12LPA which dropped to 7LPA due to the recession. The condition of placement cells is not good currently and many students are in doubt regarding their placements. Many are opting for higher studies or trying off campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is good. Even I am placed in a reputed core company. Majority of the students get placed. The remaining also prepares for higher studies through GATE and CAT. Being in the capital city, the advantage of access to reputed coaching institutes also makes the college favourable. Students are eligible to sit in the placements in the final year. Though some third-year students also get pre-placement offers after doing certain internships. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Tata Advanced Systems, TCS (Digital and Ninja), Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, JK papers, Robert Bosch etc are some of the highlights.
