Remarks
The admission is through JEE mains All India Rank. After the JEE mains ranks are released, one has to apply at the OJEE website to get an admission into the college. Admission is solely on the basis of merit and no management quota or any other sources are available. Nowadays, the college has opted for the spot selection process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a mechanical engineer and I was always keenly interested in this. The faculty members in our department are good. They are all qualified with post-graduate degrees from reputed institutions like NITs and IITs and have ample teaching experience. Although the classes in our times were sometimes irregular, nowadays due to the college being autonomous, attendance has become strict.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is good. Even I am placed in a reputed core company. Majority of the students get placed. The remaining also prepares for higher studies through GATE and CAT. Being in the capital city, the advantage of access to reputed coaching institutes also makes the college favourable. Students are eligible to sit in the placements in the final year. Though some third-year students also get pre-placement offers after doing certain internships. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Tata Advanced Systems, TCS (Digital and Ninja), Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, JK papers, Robert Bosch etc are some of the highlights.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
As it is a state government college, the fees are minimal as compared to other private colleges that charge exorbitant fees for admission. The hostel and mess charges are also economical. One can also apply for different scholarships (eg. medhabruti) based on merit and the scholarship money also becomes enough to lay the yearly fees.
Campus Life
The campus is one of a con of this college as it is not well developed and well maintained. Though the college life is enjoyable as there are two fests, one technical and another cultural, conducted every year. There's also an inter-college sports competition named Engineer's Cup where different colleges throughout the state participate. There are many clubs to make one pursue his/her extracurricular activities. Music, dance, dramatics, literature, robotics etc are to name a few.
