Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is based on CBME model and there are 3 internals held before the final university examination. It is hectic, can lead to very less or no time to socialise, but in the end it's about how much dedicated you are towards the course. The classes can be overwhelming most of the times and you will feel things are going over your head but once you start the practical application of the concepts, it becomes easier to deal with.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The internship is provided by the college itself after the completion of fourth year. The stipend is also provided for the work. There are also opportunities for people to take part in ICMR research projects from the first year itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

So Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences offers various medical and non medical courses, I have opted of Medical couse (MBBS) under private category, the fees structure are as follows: Yearly fees : 18,15,000 Hostel Fees : 86,000 The breakdown of hostel fees is something i am not well aware about. However, the fees have have increased for the upcoming batches.

Campus Life

4

The campus life can be boring or the best thing that has happened to you. It all depends on the type of friend circle you are in. There are two fests that happen in a year, both of it provide a break from the monotonus life of the students. The library has a good resources of books and it is air-conditioned. There are also sports fests happening which the students can take part in. The classroom experiences can be subjective, some like it whereas some can dislike it for the lack of ventilation and the congestion of students.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel has all the facilities that you need for a basic living. The food is below average, mostly just plain food. Hostel registration is a smooth process, with just an application to be filled, the room will be alloted to on the same day, you can change the room later with your friends too. Hostel fees was 86,000. However it is increased now to 95,000.

Admission

The Colleges are alloted through the Karnataka Examination Authority on the basis of your rank, so I was alloted through it. However if you are ready to go through the management quota, you can get it irrespective your rank provided that you atleast have the qualifying marks in NEET.

Faculty

2

In Adichunchanagiri Insitute of Medical Sciences, there are various departments in clinical and pre-clinical fields. There are experienced and new faculties available whose behavior varies according to the experiences. There is a Mentor-ward system which allots a teacher for every 10 students. I personally like Pathology department the most.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year

MBBS- passion and internal will power plays an important role in choosing this course. PASSION- because it is a noble job to do and satisfaction in this course is unmatchable because of patients interaction. WILL POWER- you may find this course hectic and the course duration is of 5.5 yesrs so it lengthy and you have to study a lot in this course. EXAMINATION - examination are little hectic and challenging but it can be achieveable.
