Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS course is one of the courses that require at most hard work and perseverance. I had an interest to study about the human body and see how the medical life would be and after joining the course I realised how hard the course is. But since I could in the end help at least one person and make his/her life easier, I'm still moving on with the course doing the best I can. I feel all the doctors preparing for this course should take the course seriously as the lives of people are in our hands and every little mistake would cost.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internship has to be done in our college itself and the stipend is around 13k. Each department teaches a lot and it proves to be very helpful in clinical experience. Each of us interns study more in this time and the faculty makes sure that by the end of the course we are fully prepared to face real patients and our knowledge is enhanced.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

First year we had to pay 17 lakhs and for second year, third year and fourth year we had to pay 15,38000 and finally for internship that's in our college itself we had to pay 7 lakhs. This is practically the tuition fees. Whereas hostel fees is 128000 from which 1 lakh is for accommodation and other maintenance and everything while 28000 is for hostel. This is for MBBS students. We also have the rents and nursing colleges in our campus. Their fees structure is not known to me. There are many students that have come with scholarships.

Campus Life

4

The campus when I joined in 2020, wasn't up to the mark but as years passed there were huge developments in infra structure. They made huge changes to the library, the scenery, made a skill lab which is also very convenient, the outside of hostel I'm also looks very pretty, the whole campus is very pretty and we can go for our morning and evening walks here too. Even the gyms are well maintained.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Even the hostels weren't up to the mark when we first joined but then I wasn't that dissatisfied either cause I have stayed in hostels before and comparing to that this wasn't that bad. But later they renovated the hostels and now it's more prettier and well maintained. Any complaint that arises is resolved within few minutes of complaining in our hostel group. The food is only vegetarian but we do get egg on few days. So non vegetarians craving chicken could just order it from somewhere

Admission

To be honest, based on my NEET marks I was allotted to this college. But I'm happy I atleast got this college cause there were other colleges that were really bad and even expensive. This college is also not in the city so we are less distracted when it comes to studies. There are a lot of locals which come to our hospital so there are a lot of patients that we get to see and study.

Faculty

4

The faculty members differ from department to department in terms of approachability, knowledge, experience and till now I have got some teachers who are at the top of my list. We have a forensic medicine sir, Dr. Chandru Sir who is the the best forensic medicine sir. Dr. Vinay sir and Dr.Mudrangappa sir, Dr.Sharath Shah sir all from Medicine department are also at the top of my list. Other sirs and maam are all good too but these are the specific ones that made me have interest in those subjects. They always are approachable and helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I chose this course as I liked Biology very much in my 11th and 12th and I also wanted to be a doctor since my childhood. • Faculty:student ratio in this college is well maintained. There is 1 faculty member over 25 students. • All the faculty are well qualified and experts in their fields. Some of the professors are functioning as scientists for the university and have reserved some patents for their researches. The teaching methodology is also very good and according to the latest norms set by the university. • Every year you have to go through some college-level exams ( Internal Assessment) three times. And you must score at least 50% as aggregate in each subject to be eligible to give the final University Exams. All the exams taken are as per the latest Revised Scheme for evaluation set by the university. On average the difficulty of exams is high. Regular studies and consistency can make anyone pass the exams .

Remarks:

Positive - Our college is located at hill station surrounded by greeneries. As we don't have more seniors and PG students we get more chances to learn on clinicals side. Negative - Our college is in Coorg, as we know coorg is more expensive. We have to survive in extreme climate conditions. Our college is still under construction.

College management is like all other college managements. Passing the buck was the usual game. We knew who to approach for what by the end of the year. There also seemed to be camaraderie among staff and management at some level depending who the dean or the principal was.
