Likes
- Supportive faculty that go outside teaching hour to provide counsell and help out.
- The infrastructure is good and well maintained, especially now that theyve built a seperate building and extra few classes which are also air-conditioned
- The cirriculum is flexible and personally I felt that it wasnt too hectic as there were breaks between lectures to stretch out.
Dislikes
- The office staff might sometimes be a bit harsh and entitled
- The washrooms need to be repaired as they are in very bad condition.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum provided great interesting topic relating to my field and the lessons were also nicely interpreted by the faculty as well. Also the lecture timings were flexible and student friendly. The exam timings were the same for the entire college irrespective of your course or semester and the difficulty level was not too high.
Internships Opportunities
There are many entrepreneurial companies that offer internships opportunities to students based on their courses. The stipend ofcourse varues depending on the kind of course youve applied in. But the general stipend is around 3k to 7k.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees (tuition fees, lab fees, library fees etc.) Vary depending on the course you take admission in this college. But for mainstream courses e.g. B.A. or B.Com. or B.Sc. they are mostly around 10k to 15k per academic year.
Campus Life
A wide range of festivals and events take place in the college throughout the year organised by the various different departments (including faculty and students). The library is vast and very well maintained. In fact the wilson college library is considered the best library in terms of their collection of books and data. Many student-run social are active in the college such as NSS, NCS, NCC, etc and they do a good job in keeping students active and doing productive things.
Admission
I applied for many degree colleges for admission e.g St. Xavier's, St. Andrew's, etc This was the college that I selected as it was closest from the railway station (hardly 10 min walk) The admission process is quite lenghty but not very hectic as ot follow the same standard procedures of application, verification and then the payment of fees.
Faculty
There are professors you like and there are ones you dont this more of a personal opinion than review... but overall the faculty is very supportive and helpfull as per my experience. Especially in the science department the professors go out of the way to help you out and guide you over any particular topic you might find difficult.
