Course Curriculum Overview

3

Being an economics student, i really do get to learn about the markets and real life issues and theories, but honestly now a basic undergraduate degree really does not hold that much of the worth so it is definitely necessary to focus on more things other than just your course, even though a Delhi university degree holds great value but for better prosperity multi tasking is necessary, personally i try to focus on the co cirricular activities and socialising with my academic responsibilities, and i also try to do as many internships as i can in different fields so that i can explore as many opportunities as i can for myself, and this is something i definitely recommend to everyone as well, being in Delhi university you should definitely take part in different societies and try to be in atleast on the cultural society according to your hobbies and skills because that is the best exposure you can get for yourself and socialise through the socities in different events and competitions

Internships Opportunities

3.5

So, we have a society called the placement cell in our college which holds an annual internship and placement fair where a lot of good companies like deloitte and ey come in to recruit students, any student from the college can register for the fair and be a part of it. Once you register for it, you get to give interviews with a maximum of 5 companies of your own choice, but the opportunity is open for all and we also invite students for other colleges

Fees and Financial Aid

Out total course fees has been 28,500 for the course of BA Hons economics at daulat ram college Delhi university, only tution fees is charged from us as the college comes under government, not other development or any charges are applied to us.

Campus Life

4

Firstly if we talk about the campus life, north campus offer the best campus life and exposure you can ask for from being in college. You can get to know students from different college and you have a variety of things to do and you are never getting bored, next if we talk about the social life and club involvements, if you are in delhi university the first thinb you do is take part in the socities atleast two of them, one of them being a cultural one because to socialise its very necessary to be a part of these societies, it also helps in building your confidence and learn and discover more things about yourself, thirdly if we talk about the infrastructure, my college's infrastructure is fine, i wont say its good because of the lack of basic facilities lIke working fans and clean washrooms, but we do have an auditorium and an amphitheatre with a sports ground and sports wing with an in college hostel

Admission

Honestly i definitely applied to a lot of colleges through my cuet score and the portal, but i was not given a choice of choosing in what college i can get in, i was offered the college i am right now and it was whether take it or leave it, so then being a part of Delhi university's north campus was the best decision i could make for myself, the cuet exam has a heck lot of competition which makes it very difficult for students to have options to choose from but you definitely get the best college according to your score, and honestly i wanted to be in sukhdev college of business studies but i think my score wasn't good enough, but i got the best college for my score, and the admission process is very easy the cuet portal does everything for you, once the college is allotted to you, you can either accept and freeze or let it go, and if you accept it then you just pay the fees whenever the portal opens and if you let go then you have to wait for the other lists to open and declare.

Faculty

3.5

The faciulty members of my course are definitely very nice, the teachers are very helpfull and the other staff members are helpfull too, teachers reallu do help us out with out issues or any academic problems. If we talk about the course structure we have ohr internals and externals that are basically divided in two parts, half of the internals exams are taken in three divisions and the other is also taken in three divisions which usually on online mode, the external exams are for 100 marks and then in my course we have three internal exams which are each of 12 marks which is marked by the best of three factor which adds up 24 marks and our attendance is 11 marks and then we have three ca tests which are on online mode eacb of 10-12 marks depending on the teacher all this total adds up to 165-171 marks and the rest of the marks are basically marked by any extra assignments or presentations in the class and we can also earn marks by class presence and activiness.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
