Likes

Club cultures, there are many co curricular clubs in both tech and non tech fields which have helped me in my overall development.
The not so strict attendance policy. We have a 60% attendance required criterion and many profs are somewhat lenient with attendance
Its location l. Being located in the south campus of university it is away fron the hustle and bustle and still connected to uni

Dislikes

The students and their behaviours. I wontbsay its quality crowd
The washrooms and the overall hygieni is highly neglected
The teachers are a bit stubborn in some areas which makes if a bad experience

Course Curriculum Overview

Info tech because I like info technologies. The curriculum basically hardly gives any real worls experience. The teachers will teach at kinder garten level and then give exams from leetcode. Overall they are somewhat balanced not very difficult not very easy. I think curriculum needs a revision and the teachers too. They are old

Placement Experience

Placement start in 7th sem. Students do not jave placements record but companies like ibm, tcs, amazon, deloitte, cisco come for non core and tat mahindra kpmg gemini etc come for the core branches. The highest on campus package is of amex which is afound 14lpa. By the end of placement drives almost all students are placed. My plans after uni are not decided

Fees and Financial Aid

The current semester feebis around 40000 and that for next one is 60000 so in total ot is nearly 1 lakh per year. I am in general category. Their is no less tution fees for obc but for sc and st it holds. There is a scheme acc to which the topper of every branch does not have to pay their semester fee.

Campus Life

We have 'legacy' in october and 'goonj' in march. They are both college fests on a big level. They include tech and non tech committees. The footfall is usually low. There are enough books in the libraries both college lib and pu library. There are no such technological provisions except. A smart board but what use is it if the professors are not smart. Their are many student run clubs and committees

Admission

I did not apply to others. Admissions here happened based on jee main rank through jac chandigarh. The cutoff for my branch last year was 50000 for general category. This is basically a tier 2 college so admission is easy

Faculty

Every semester we have 2 minors of 30 marks and 1 major of 50 marks. Their is internal marking for 20 marks. The marks of minors are submitted as best of 2. Usually from a vatch of 100 students only 5 or smthg get a re

Placement Experience:

Placement are provided by the college and Good offers are made by the companies. Like in cse , ece and ee have good placements but in lower branch percentage placements is a bit lower, but overall average and median package is good ( 70%) Highest placement was 61 lpa of 2025 median was 13 lpa.

Punjab Engineering College through an Unfiltered lens .

Placement Experience:

placement stats of my college is great. Better than most of the colleges out there . Even better than many NITs and IIITs , with an avg package of 14-16 LPA . And every year the Median and Avg package is increasing . Highest package till now - 83 LPA . Students are allowed for campus placements after 5th semister All the big companies out there , from Google , microsoft , amazon to Delloete , JP Morgan , AmericanExpress , to seimens, oracle , L&T , all companies come here . around 70-75% students gets placed from here My plan is to get the highest paying job offer possible for me , that's it .

PEC is great choice

Placement Experience:

placements from rti report placement percentage is over 75 + and in ee its 74 percent cse 93 and ece 84 percent avg for cse is 18 lakhs and ece is 16 lakhs ee its 14 lakh and other branches have 8 10 lakh avg but the placemnt percentage in mechncial is 70 percent other branches like civil production have a little less percentage of placements but they have opportunities in college

PEC life in a nutshell

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am in first year and first year is same for all branches, so I don't know a lot about electrical engineering specifically. But of what I have heard from seniors, electrical branch is more difficult, and in pec u get not that many core companies. While u get a lot of finance, IT, coding etc companies.

Yes,very good college placements are available in our college.Students of 8 semester that is 4th year students are eligible for campus placement Companies such as TCS,wipro,amex,gemini solutions and etc many more companies are there for placement 60-80% students got placed in the companies with an average package of 8 lakhs and with a highest package of 35 lakhs Iam oriented towards govt jobs and in future if I will be interested in coding sector I will do preparation for off campus and specifically for Rubrik

Placement Experience:

Placement do occur in the college. It's average package is around 7.5, lakh. Since I am the first year right now, I don't have data to support the placement record, but some of my seniors of fourth year are getting placed. One of my IT senior got placed for 14 LPA and other other, my Cse senior got placed for around 12 LPA. so opportunities are there for those who want to do something
