I had given the WBJEE Entrance Examination in 2011 to secure a state rank of 15834 i wanted to study Mechanical as I loved to study about machines and from what I heard from others, Seacom was providing the best education & placements services for mechanical students in all the colleges near to Kolkata city so I decided to join Seacom.

When I joined the college, I was fortunate enough to have few of the best faculties For mechanical for the first two years it was a cake walk but after those two years, due to certain politics in college administration, most of the good faculties were forced to leave this college for better career opportunities at the present, most of faculties are part-time with almost nil experience of teaching.

The college wasn't interested in bringing in companies of mechanical domain as they were more focused on IT stream. The first company which came was "Eros elevators" which was offering a stipend of 8000 rupees with working location being Mumbai. Then came "Unisys", "Tractors India Pvt Ltd", " Simplex Infrastructure " offering stipend in the range of 1.8 - 3 Lpa.

Out of the total strength of Mechanical which was 112, only 7 students were placed in companies like, Eros Elevators, Simplex Infrastructure, Tractor India Pvt Ltd the salary was in the range og 1.8 - 3.0 LPA.

In my whole four years of education in this college, cultural festival was organized only once in the very first year after that no cultural event were organized. Technical event was held regularly in our college till the very last year of my course with students from various college through out WB joining in taking the competition a level a notch higher.

There was no Hostel attached to this college so point talking about them fees was not too high as its fees was similar to any private engineering in WB.

There was a scheme to get waiver in tuition fees but that service was available to only handful of students i tried but my application was rejected.

The number of females were very less in our Mechanical stream which is the case everywhere if we are talking about Mechanical .But the number of boys & girls in other departments like EE, CSE, IT was almost equal. The workshop that was provided by the college was one of the best available from all the college in WB. Specially the Mechanical workshop had too many machines for everyone. Apart from workshop, the number of Computer Labs were also very high. Many students of our college were from outside WB but they gelled well with local students like us.

The seniors were helping most of the time start was a bit shaky but later on we grew a solid bond with each other we respected them and they use to help us in every way they could.
