Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have opted for computer science and engineering here . I feel it is kind of good course here but it has some irrelevant subjects that must not be present like engineering drawing and chemistry. Proper coding must be there

Internships Opportunities

4

My college provides a wide array of internship opportunities across various fields, supported by a dedicated career services team. The college maintains strong partnerships with companies such as amazon and Microsoft.

Placement Experience

5

The placements at my college are quite strong, with a large percentage of students securing jobs through campus recruitment drives. Many well-known companies across various industries visit for placements, including those from sectors like IT, finance, consulting, and engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearwise fees is 2 lakhs approx including hostel and academics. Tuition fees is about 55k lab fees etc. involves 46-60k depending on whether facility used. For reserved candidates tuition fees is zero. Many scholarships are there but nothing for general.

Campus Life

4

The college has a very active and welcoming community. There’s always something happening on campus, from cultural festivals to small student-led events. It’s easy to make friends, and the environment feels inclusive.

Hostel Facilities

4

At the end of each semester there is checking of the room and every week there is cleanliness drive happening in the hostel. The meal is inspected by the warden himself so I can say the quality is quite good.

Admission

I chose this college over the others I applied to for a few key reasons. First, the campus culture and community felt like the best fit for me—collaborative and supportive, with plenty of extracurricular opportunities. While other schools had strong academic programs, this college offered more flexibility in designing my major and provided better access to internships in the surrounding area.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is about 40:1 I liked Maan sir the best as he is always enjoying teaching and is very kind. The relevancy of the course curriculum is not very good. Genuinely I feel they must do some better job in coding implementation.

Interview Experience

5

For the admission I have to give JEE Joint Entrance Examination in which I got a rank of 9989 and the through Josaa Joint Seat Allocation process I got my seat here in this colleg. It was not much of a hassle to prepare for this

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.
