Course Curriculum Overview

4

Computer and communications engineering was attractive to me as it has both core subjects and mostly computer science related subjects as well. And in a world with a growing network having background in networking would be great. The curriculum is as relevant as any other college no special modifications are made to the curriculum provided by AICTE. Exams are held pretty frequently with assignments and internals every other week, mid terms are held twice in a year. The exams are moderately difficult.

Fees and Financial Aid

1. 4.9 Lakhs per year inclusive of all charges, which have been taken under tution fees itself. No additional lab fees, registration or admission fees. 2. No reservation of seats, so no difference in fees in categories. Except for national subsidies like PMSS for students from Jammu and AICTE freeship students. 3. Merit based scholarship is available for students achieving less than 5000 rank and obtaining a cgpa of 8.5 in their first year. Need based is AICTE for students with family income less than 7 lpa.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life is pretty chill, there are a lot of things to do. People are also very sociable and learning happens as people are from different places, so diversity exists. Library is very good with most books available. Research is highly appreciated and even funded by the college. Students projects and clubs are very active with recruitments at the start of every year. Classrooms are fitted with security cameras and lecture recording devices for review. MIT has beautiful cricket and football grounds, tennis and badminton courts, gyms, basketball court both synthetic and cemented and a swimming pool.

Admission

Applied to VIT-V and SNU got in but found Manipal to have better infrastructure and less student intake than the others, thus this became an easy choice. Manipal takes in students through MET conducted every year after which a rank list is generated and seats are allotted through councelling, their is no management quota. The entrance exam is somewhat difficult and cutoffs for computer science and related courses would be 120 marks. Overall admission experience is smooth especially after UGC has made refunds compulsory.

Faculty

4.5

1 professor for 60-70 students per subject. Highly approachable. There are different number of exams for every subject, the tests are of moderate difficulty. Around 30% would fail to clear the exam. The course curriculum is as relevant as it is in any other university. MIT follows the general curriculum with minor changes for computer branches.

Other Applied Colleges

Vellore Institute of Technology - [VIT University] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Felt MIT had more to offer in terms of learning and had a lower student intake

the placement rate says 100% but you have to be maintaining 7.25 cgpa in order to sit for the placements and they are classified into 1) mass recruiters 2) dream companies3) superdream companies for which you will need 9 and above cgpa. i personally am dependent on placement or i also am appearing for the GATE entrance exam in my 3rd year as well as my 4th year and will see where life leads me but honestly i just want to start working and gaibn indstry experience and make money and develop skills faster

The courses are very nice since it is an autonomous college the courses have been designed to provide the students with knowledge of the latest technology and the need of the hour. Although the new subjects becomes a little difficult to understand sometimes at the end it's going to benefit us itself .

They fake a lot of their placements....now the bangalore campus currently has 40%placements but they fake the placement rates to make it look like its 80 or 90% which is sad...i heard that if u have really bad marks and couldnt get placed(a lot of ece and eee people, cause they will purposefully try to fail u so that u can apply for the couse again) they will make u sign a document were u agree u never sat for placements.

Students at RVCE become eligible for campus placements typically from the seventh semester onwards. Several reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering a wide range of job opportunities to students. Some of the prominent companies include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, and Accenture, among others. These companies make a significant number of job offers across various profiles, including software development, consulting, and research. The highest package offered varies from year to year and can range from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and the profile offered. The average package generally falls between ?4-8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placements varies, but RVCE has a consistently high placement record, with a significant majority of students securing job offers during campus placements.
