Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is based on NEP 2020 so now it has changed alot. I thinks this courses are now activity based that each student can participate and go through real world perspectives. Frequency and timing of exams are much suitable that 60 marks written paper have 2 hours time and it is good as of frequency and difficulty level of exam.

Internships Opportunities

3

As of I am second year student I am not gone throughout this so I can't answer this. But college conducts various seminars for career counseling. It is much lookable to us after completion of degree how college offers placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Now as of second year BA I've payed total 2362 INR as academic fee for academic year 2024-25 and it is aided course and i belong to OBC category. Tuition fees - 1937 Admission Processing - 200 Alumni association - 25 Disaster Relief fund -10 Esuvidha- 50 Group insurance- 20 I'd/library card- 50 Student welfare fund -50 Vice chancellor fund -20 And one of my friend from General Category has 4712 INR fees.

Campus Life

3.5

The college and various departments arrange many annual and technical festivals. Some of them I can mention here are, Maharashtrotsav, Science Day, Historical Exhibitions, Geography based camps, Visits and many more. The library of college is on 2 nd floor and has near about 130000 books and has good reading hall. Classes are well furnished, some of them have digital classrooms. The sports such as badminton, Cricket, tennis, etc are played over there in campus. College have social group such as NSS and NCC

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The official hostel accomodation of college is provided at 1)Government College Boys Hostel, C road, Churchgate. 2) Ismail Yusuf Boys Hostel, Jogeshwari East. 3) Telang memorial Girls hostel, C road, Churchgate. 4) Savitridevi Phule Mahila vastugruh, Warli. Hostels are well equipped and provides single as well double seated rooms. Containing chair, table, bed, cupboard. Hostel has mess of own and food is of good quality. Registration process of hostel starts in near about August month. We have to apply online on official website www.hosteladmission.com after this merit list is published on basis of result of last examination passed and has caste based reservation seats. We can opt for private PGs away from college such as Dadar, Bandra, Chembur, Panvel,Etc but it is worst thing to travel with local trains so one should think of gaining hostel accommodation at above hostels mentioned.

Admission

Actually I've applied to Fergusson College Pune, SP college Pune and Modern Arts Pune but over all of this I've selected Elphinstone as this is Govt College based near University campus and has credit over world. No I've didn't got rejection from other colleges I myself chosen this over them. The undergraduate admission process of this colleges starts in June after result of HSC exam. College provides online portal for application on their official website www.elphinstone.in. after 10-15 days online merit list are published on website as per HSC percentage, reserved seats and once we appears in list then we have to come with our original documents and their copies to college admission department in given time mentioned on merit list.

Faculty

4.5

As of now there is good amount of staff is available for each department. All are very generous and easily approachable. Some of my favourite faculties are Dr. Bhavna Patole, Dr Ajit Chunarkar, Dharam sir, Amisha Jaiswal. There are two exams each year for each semester. Exams are much easier as all belongs to whatever teachers have teached. Much lesser students failed to clear this exams there number is negligible.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
