Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to pursue economics. So I choose economics with computer application. In my 12 th also I have studied economics therefore I didn't face much issue to understand it. Also with the help of teachers I used to understand everything clearly. But the teachers also need to understand one thing that they should clear each and every topic to the students and should not tell only main topics and not the content what is there inside in that particular topic. In my computer application course I learned many things , the teacher was amazing.

Fees and Financial Aid

I took admission in the year 2021, it was a three year graduation. My course was Ba programme (economics+ computer application) .In first year, the fees was 12997, than in second year it increases to 13047 and in third year 13997. So it increases by some amount in each year. And in every semester there is a examination form fee also which the students have to pay to appear for exams and the examination form depends on your subjects or the no. of practical subjects you have in that particular semester.A scholarship program is available for students, for fee concession scholarship students have to fill the form and after the forms are verified and interview round is there and the students who clear both the rounds gets some fee concession scholarship.

Campus Life

Annual fests are every year in the college in which other DU students are also allowed to come and enjoy . Aprat from this there is always some fests and programmes used to held in the college. There is a fest of every department on different days in which the students of that particular department used to prepare everything. Library was very good , no disturbances and all course related books and other journal books are available there. There is ncc also if any of the students want to join ,other than this whenever the students are free they can have their from sports , available everything in the sports room . Talking about social groups and clubs than yes there are many clubs in the colleges which a student can choose according to their interest and every student is a part of one club which helps them in their extra curricular activities.

Admission

I got this college in the second cut off , first I applied for Aditi mahavidyalaya which is very very far from my house . I applied for that college, I got admission and I fixed my seat but there was a hope for some other college . So in the second cut off only I got Kalindi that too with a best course and subjects which I wanted to pursue . Talking about the admission process, it was on the basis of your 12th score , after declaring of the cut offs you have to just check the cut offs and colleges that which one college you are getting , than you have to apply to that college and it used to take one day to verify the details and after that payment option comes to you , to pay the fees of your course. So it's not too much difficult

Faculty

Faculty members were excellent . They always helped us when we need them. Teaching faculty were never out of their work but the admin faculty needs some improvement. As in college when the students are new they need to clarify many thing from the admin as they do not have any idea about the college or exams or college systems.Exams are held every semester means twice in a year . So the total number of exams in three years were 6 times. The paper was moderate, and the students who prepare well will never fail the exams. The checking and marking scheme was also good , if you have written your answers to the point , you doesn't neend to scare of failing.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
