Course Curriculum Overview

4

Its MBBS dude . Respected profession and lots of money. The curriculum is good very much emphasis on theoratical knowledge along with good amount of clinical hours for skill development. Improvements would be to lower the load on final prof. As too many subjects. Frequency of exams is 1 formative weekly and 3 terms at 3 months gap . One final examination yearly. They vary in difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is provided by the college and is compulsory as per NTA for a period of 1 year. You practice as a doctor in internship under senior specialists. You need to attend to patients and treat them along with mentainance of records.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure when i joined was 8.5 lakhs per year+ 98000 admission fees with 10% increment each year for 5 years. Hostel fees is 32000 + 100000 mess charges per year for 5.5 years. For himacha state quota fees is 9.5 lakh with 10% INCREMENT FOR MANAGEMENT quota fees is 15.8 lakhs with 10% increment per year. Theres is scholarship for people who score distiction is university exams i.e waiver of 1 lakh from fees.

Campus Life

4

There are only two event the freshers and the med olympics. Typically held bw april to june . You can get access to all kinds of medical books in liberary even the PG books of all specialities. The classrooms are equiped with smartclasses and AC. Projects are also there with centeral heating and microphone and mikes for better experience. Sports are limited. There is a band group and not much some dance classes.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is seperate rooms with 2 tenets and a seperate bathroom . Meal quality is average to bad wont recommend. Hostel is registered during admission to course amd hoatel are quite costly given the food. PGs are there outside college but too much incline and not allowed by administration.

Admission

I applied to IGMC shimla and SLBSMCH nerchowk . This college however had better academics and faculty. Yes i got rejected as i did not reach the cutoff for admission NEET UG. Admission is simple 3 counselling rounds decided by NTA. You need to reach a cutoff in NEET amd on the basis of marks you get admitted. Around 450 marks out of 720 and you are set.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to atudent ratio is quite good but that depends on department to department. Facutiy of physiology is the best as teacher to student relationship is very good with individual guidance given . pathology ranking second and pharma being third. I dont like biochemistry as dept is quite tixic along with microbiology and community medicine, as i said quite toxic. There are weekly formative assessments for a subject and 3 term exams . Finally the university final exams at the end of the year.

MBBS is some course I don't think I've to define, it's low-key a noble profession and worth the hardwork you'll be doing throughout past few years of NEET-ug preparation and 4.5 years of MBBS. And superiority complex among yo relatives, hahaha????

Course Curriculum Overview:

One may choose the course of MBBS for various reasons, my being having a successful professional life which interests me. The perks of being a doctor are many , the primary being the ability to help the society at many levels with a good income and social status. Through MBBS one definitely learns a lot which prepares an individual for the harsh World we live in. Each viva, each scolding, each taunt and each exam surely feel bad at the moment but if the person is willing to rebuild on them they surely develop ones character. Coming to the academic part MBBS includes19 subjects. One can pursue any of the subjects in the future which requires you to qualify neet pg which would soon be replaced by NEXT exam. A thorough knowledge of the subjects is required to qualify the exam. It's known well that medical field is constantly evolved at a very rapid rate. However i personally feel that this college has lagged behind in catching up to it. Currently there is a need for better infrastructure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mbbs in itself is vast curriculum but it's interesting at the same time. We get to learn more about our body in first year through anatomy physiology and biochemistry. From second year onwards the preclinical subjects are more interesting one also the clinical postings make the cause much fun u got to see many patients and apply the bookish knowledge on the patients. Exams in mbbs are held from time to time which keep us going through the course very easily.
