Nitk review

The last timr the course curriculum was updated was 2019 so an update is definitely needed. Otherwise most topics are relevant and most professors try to stay relevant. Most of the studying is done by oneself

There are companies that come to campus for internships so many students are able to identify internships there. There is a portal called gyaan on our student portal that provides complete details as to who was placed where and how to prepare

Placements are good you can apply for placements from 7th semester some students get ppo from internships im 3rd semester. Many companies come for on site recruiting and people get placed at those companies

Fees payment is done on a semester basis. There are two semesters in a year. The tuition fees are around 62500 per semester and additions fees come somewhere between 15-30k per year. Hostellers have to pay aditional hostel rent of arounf 6-8k and an additional 30k for mess and other hostel charges per semester

There are many clubs here both technical clubs and non technical clubs, the culture to learn is very nice regardless of what clun you join. Sports facilities are good, we have some of the top teams among other NITs

Nitk surathkal was my first choice it is the best nit when all resources are compared. Some ppl say nit trichy is better but there is no reason for this apart from reputation. Placements, culture, social life are better here

Most faculty are very nice and approachable, they can be very helpful when required wnd they are ready to solve doubts that come their way. However some faculty can be problematic especially from the mechanical department like professor merwin herbert
