Course Curriculum Overview

2

There are three options available from 4 year constitutional law, Criminal law and Business law. Then you have certain optionals to choose from except from your core subjects. Like IP, Environmental Law, International Laws etc. The curriculum is not a problem but teachers are. Teaching methods are bad and outdated and the timing of examinations are pretty chil though

Internships Opportunities

0.5

Very average internships are offered like chambers and advocates sometimes firms also comes but again selection chances are very low. NDA came, Spice route legal comes and few other such companies. Internships through college are mostly futile and time waste

Placement Experience

0.5

From ninth semester students become eligible to sit in campus placements. Few companies like SAM, IUCL, LKS and Panag and Babu visits the campus. Numbet of offers made are very less mostly 1-2 students are offered. Big reason is internal politics of the placement cell. Highest offered is 19 LPA lowest is 5 LPA. In a batch of 180 students 10-12 students will get placed at decent places.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees for the ninth semester was around 2,43,000. And the bifurcation is tution fees, mess fees, hostel fees etc. There is scheme for economically weaker sections and scholarship but not availed by the mass easily. Students who have EWS are unable to avail the benefits and students very often humuiliated for not paying fees. Students who have not paid fees are not allowed to sit in exams. Further the fees keeps increasing every year and the infra remains the same. Although RGNUL has good infra but the fees is insanely high for the same.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is pretty fun and chill. Except for some people everyone is fine. Zelus the annual dports fest is a pretty big and fun event where different colleges compete with each other. There are many centers run by students and they are mostly good adds to your CV. There is debate clubs, music groups and sports club. Cultural events are very common. And intra competitions happen every year. There is Legal aid clinic and transgender community.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is the best. You enter 4 year and waoh you get a single room with AC which is operational almost throughout the class except when you are in class. Rooms are big and spacious comes with a balcony upto 3 year double occupancy are there. Mess food is shit horrible very rarae they cook something decent although the menu is very vast and includes chicken almost twice a week. But the quality of ingredients suck. The fees for hostels are justified given you are getting a big room with balcony and a AC so yeah. The location of college is poor though.

Admission

My clat rank was in late 900s and hence the only option was either HNNLU, RGNUL or NLUO. I had to make a choice my home was closest to RGNUL which was one of the prime factors to choose RG. Secondly their infra was pretty decent and it was punjab which i preffered over other states. But honestly now i regret because NLUO and HNNLU is doing so much better in terms of academics and placements. RGNUL only have 5 placed people for 2025 batch which is a joke as compared to othet NLUs. Cutoff for RGNUL is maximum 1000 rank.

Faculty

0.5

Faculty to student ratio is fine. The course is chill certain teachers again 1 in 10 are strict rest all are pretty chill about syllabus and attendance l. Course curriculum is pretty chil and easy. Student do fail but very rare and eventually are able to clear exams. The new VC seems to bother certain teachers due to his policies. Certain teachers are very bad never gives any notes acts very bad with students and no at all cooperative with their problems. Interning two months in a semester is not possible because of the academic structure. Teachers dont teach anything well in the class but still they want full presence in the class. They dont care about internships or jobs they dont know anything about them as well.

Around 60% students only gets direct placements from our college as ratio I hope gets better because as a top tier NLU i still feel the placements are still not that great. I hope that by the time our time comes ratio is 100% because after the judgement of 3 years practice for judiciary, I think it is inevitable to have a job.

Khaitan & Co., Maheshwari and Co and likewise many such companies came for placements as it's the law firm that provides us placements and give good salary like 50-70k in general. However, internships matters a lot as most students performance at their internships are reviewed thoroughly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college is highly affordable with not much hike in the fees over the past years. It is quite near to my house and within the city. The college provides hostel facilities and bus pass to students travelling from far The course makes you legal literate and aware of the legal world . With 15-20days of internship in district court in last 2 years of the college it shows the reality of the court life. No placement- The college should provide information along with opportunities of placements. The campus being quite small - Teacher easily focuses on each student . Semester system- The university conducts exams every 6months yhat are quite easy to clear.
