Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Mostly choose this couse when they not crack other exam or some of few are interested in agriculture so they choose this course. well curriculum perpares forreal world application in very few aspect like dose of insecticide, pesticide, farming practise etc. there is addition of A.I technology, drone application , new farming practises. 3times exam is every semester someexam of 1-2 hours and other are of 3 hours

Placement Experience

2

For last year students the campus will provide the placement program. The company visited are Gharda Chemicals, Mother Dairy and the offers are depend upon their vacanies ehich changing yearly. The highest package that I know is 35000 per month and its depend upon company to company. Percentage of student getting placed from university is very less it approximately about 2 to 5% My plans after the degree to pursue master program.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

There are four Colleges in our University: 1. Dr G.C. Negi college of Veterinary & Animal Sciences COVAS 2. College of Agriculture COA 3. College of Community Sciences COCS 4. College of Basic Sciences COBS I am Student of College of Agriculture COA (2020-2024) . There are 8 semester in Bsc. Hons Agriculture and Fees Taken by University is Semester wise. The Students who take SFS ( Self Finance seat ) they paid extra 40,000/- in each semester along with respesctive fees of that semester. Univesity also provide Scholarship to those student who are in merit (Top 15) during each year. Amount 10,300 /- per year.

Campus Life

5

There is not any special festival which is celebrated in university annually but in each year there is Agri Night is celebrated and some other festival like Holi, dusshera is also celebrated. All types of books and generals are available in library. Facilities and Technological provision within the classroom are like digital screens, white board as well as water coolers and washrooms are well equipped near classroom. Various types of sports and extracurricular activities offered in campus in each year i there is sport meet is to be held between all four colleges and various types of games are to be play like volleyball, basketball, cricket, kho kho& athletic meet is also held in university. There are many types of groups & clubs and student portals are run in the university to impact student life like Agro club, Cultural Club, music band etc

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostel rooms are well equipped with chair, table, bed & cupboard. The hostel rooms are two bedded or three bedded. The quality of the hostel food is good and proper menu is to be made every month. The registration for hostel and affordability is done along with admission process. the student have to fill application form to take hostel and submit in the SW0 office. If student want Rome or PG it cost up to 6000 to 8000 per month

Admission

I chose this college because this college is in my state and distict and I also applied for some other colleges like DAV college kangra, Siddharth college Nadaun, and COHF NAUNI. No I don't get rejection from any other college. Now the admission process in my college has got changed. The admission in my college is taken through ICAR UG Exam. The student has to crack the ICR UG exam after that they fill out the counselling and then the university will got selected and it's depend upon cut off. The cut off varies for different categories generally 80-90 per cent etc

Faculty

4.5

Faculty-to-student is less. because strength of student increased every year. Student will approach their teacher easily but they have to do it by him/her self. I like the Department of Plant Pathology because teachers taught the things very deeply and practicals are also done. they solve doubts as well as give guidance. All teachers are good but some teachers not taught properly as well they not even take classes regularly. In Each semester there will be mid terms; a practical exam and End term. level of exam moderate to difficult. if exam or course difficult the some students are not passed. couse curriculum is relevant but needs some changes in each semester.

Placement Experience:

The university placement cell is very inactive and students do not prefer to take jobs from there as the offers are very dull and low. Most of the students prefer to prepare for government job exams or pursue their higher studies after graduation. Only small companies come with vague offers and the average package is merely 300000 per annum

Placement Experience:

The college has a placement cell but the students are not interested in college placements as the packages offered by companies that come for college placements are very low par. Othe career opportunities like a government job, administration, banking a specialised MBA in agriculture, or pursuing masters are more luring for the students as they provide better opportunities bothe financially and also in terms of personal growth.

Remarks:

The overall grading of university is fine. Being a government university it has some issues and problems also but as we see the all-over progress , the university is doing well in it's own place and there is also good ranking of university as compared to all other universities and it is the only one university of horticulture and forestry in state collaborated with ICAR.
