SN College an overview

Good course. Political science helps us to give an insight into the current happenings and its functionalities. International relations helps us to understand the dynamics of world politics.It provides you a background if you're preparing for upsc. Since i graduated during covid and exams were halted for a while and for the last yr of my course we had to face back to back exams. Otherwise it happens timely almost after every five months.

I got admission on merit. So i only had to pay Rs.500 every sem. When i took admission i had to pay a sum of 6000 since its an aided college. Scholarships like e grant are available. The course is affordable.

Festivals like onam, Christmas, holi etc are celebrated. Competitive events like kalolsavam which includes a variety of events like recitation, dances, songs, group events etc are held annually. Sports competitions are also there. NCC, NSS and some literary clubs are also there. There is a common library as well as dept libraries that provide all the types of books you need. Newspapers are also available.

SN College was my first option because it had the necessary complimentary subjects which were sociology and economy. I didnt have to face any rejection from any other college since i had enough marks. Admission process is based on merit, the marks obtained during your 12th board is considered qualification.

For every 50 students there is one teacher. Some staff extremely helpful. Others aren't really. Many despise you if you have friends from the opposite sex! . Hated the HOD. Very unkind and partial. Didn't open the dept libraries and asked us to buy our own books!! The course is divided into six semesters. Six exams one in each semester. 5th and 6th SEM was very difficult. The course curriculum especially 6th semester is very apt. There is research project that needed to be done in the last sem. Its a group project. All exams are written 80 marks and the rest 20 is internal assessment based on assignments and seminars.
