Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is quite updated as per the current requirements as new and new modern day required subjects are added like for example recently we have been added with algorithmic trading and artificial intelligence as two new subjects. The teaching methodology is fine like they have theory lecture and practical lab hours as two main methedologies. It would be better that if the exam would be more practical based rather than theory based. The frequency of the exam is adequate and requires no change but the timing of exams should be revised atleast for some lenghty subjects like database management system or theoretical computer science. The curriculum is well structured to prepare one for real life scenarios and is implemented strictly. There is lab submissions for each lab that has to be done then and there only or maybe same day.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Cuurently as I am in 3rd year and the internship begin from 4th year, so it is too early for me to comment something about it but i can say that till now there has been different kinds of internship opportunities provided by either the faculties or by the college.

Placement Experience

3.5

The campus placement has a average package of 6-8 LPA. From 7th sem onwards the students are suppose to enroll in internships and are provided offer letter for recruitment if fulfills the requirements. There are various companies that are welcomed by NMIMS every year, it included TCS, INFOSYS, HCL, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA and etc. facilities state that there have been cases of companies offering more than 30 LPA but student could not crack it. Moreover from past 6 months there have been a change in the college where there has been tremendous focus on placement preparation where the respected associate dean and many other faculties provide different insights and tasks for placement preparation. I dont have the stats of highest LPA or so, my plans after getting the degree is to seek on campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was supposed to pay 202000 for the first year where 10000 was suppose to be a security deposit which will be refunded after 4 years and remaining as the fee for 1st and 2nd sem, second year i was supposed to pay 192000 as the fee for 3rd and 4th sem, and for the 3rd year and 4th year i need to pay 222000 as for next 4 left sems. One might get exposure to various kind of hackathons, tech fests and events and if selected and needed to travel anywhere, the college sponsors it promptly. Mostly the college reimburses the amount after the event is completed. For third year i can divide the the amount for different slabs like: Development Fees : 30000 Other Fees: 62000 Tution Fee: 130000 Also there is a option to opt bus facility as the campus is located 8-10 km from city centre, the bus fee is 36000 for 12 months and there is no provision for part payment and is same for everyone irrespective of distance travelled.

Campus Life

4.5

The overall experience with the institution is difficult to express in some words but i can definitely say that NMIMS have definitely made me more self managed, time managed, organised, patient and cultured. The social circle that i got a chance to interact with, is elite. It's just that the college has given a very school kind of vibe, tremendous amount of pressure and made me very regular. There are different events and fests that happen each year like technex which is a three day overnight hackathon where students stays in the college and participate in the hackathon, another is NMOTSAV that is a cultural event that takes place every year in the month of November December. And then there are many more activities and events every day that are organised.

Admission

I applied for various colleges like VIT ,BITS, MANIPAL and even some local colleges like IPS, MEDICAPS, ACROPOLIS. I chose NMIMS because of the crowd and the campus. Primarily i was not prepared to leave my city and wanted to persue B TECH in indore only and there is no better college for engineering than NMIMS. The infrastructure they have is exceptionally modern and the exposure they provide. Above all it is the environment that they keep you in. You always stay busy, they wont leave you idle. The assignment, projects and presentations are a daily routine and they prepare and train us to sustain stress and exhibit better self management and time management.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties associated with the institution are very polished and knowledgeable about their domain. Additionally the faculities especially the permanent (core faculties) are extremely aware and enlightened with various subjects. Also the faculties are immensely helpful, all the faculties of the institution (engineering) have been helpful throughout. Like they have always helped rather it be a research paper publication or maybe working on a problem statement or whatsoever. Additionally the some faculties are extra ordinarily generous, they won't only help you with studies but also with life skills and may council you if needed. There are bascically two mid term tests that are conducted during a sem and then a final sem end exam. The exams are quite tricky and some might be lenghty. Exams can be cleared with average marks if studied properly. Still Some students find it difficult to pass the exam. The course curriculum is very updated as new and new current trends subjects are added.

Interview Experience

3.5

For admission in NMIMS for engineering, you must need to clear NCET exam that is common entrance test. It is a 120 min exam and has 120 objective type questions based on physics, chemistry and maths of class 11th and 12th. You must score more than 75 % in both 10th and 12th. Once you clear the NCET exam you get a offer letter from mumbai. Then you need to fill 2-3 annexures and undertakings and need to visit the mumbai campus. At the mumbai campus you'll be asked about the list of documents that you were suppose to bring and along that you'll be allotted campus based on your NCET ranking. Preparation for the exam is similar to the any other entrance exam and just needs bit time management as you have a minute per question.

Other Applied Colleges

BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Computer Science)

Found NMIMS much competent and was much more modern, additionally it was more convenient as ut was in the same city where i lived.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If i talk about my specific aspect my brother recomment this college for me and as per of my jee scoure 47374 rank this what i get and i forget to apply for Internal branch change thats why this is how i end up . Curriculum is impressive but it good as in there imagination as its not good in real life. If they apply thing perfectly it really help in personal improvement and overall college performance. They should provide more clubs activity and practical soft skills activity as compare to there tight curriculum of constant memorizing courses I score a really good score not difficult that much and have no complain in frequency and timing but there is a story my IT course they faculty fails to complete my 2 units so in end sem i have to prepare it by my own in 10 days from scratch

I would rate it 6/10 because first year subjects and all are mostly unnecessary i guess. Its not required that much. There should be more focus on coding and problem solving in college which is often neglected.frequency and timing are fine of exams.

Yes that is true there is placements happened but average and low placement ratio there is because of students skills but for employability you can placed out of campus that is good option . After getting degree did mtech was good or other government like exam there was option and also out of campus placement with enough skill demand is a better option more than college placements

Campus placements are moderate as comparatively less companies visits every year. Number of students for placements are more and companies visits are less that cause less placement ratio for on campus. Moreover upto the end of 8th semester almost 80% of students get placed both including on campus and off campus. My plan is to get a job after graduation.
